In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Infinite Zip FilesHi terminusagency,
Sorry to hear you’re having some trouble. That’s the first time I’ve heard of that happening before.
One thing you could do that would help me diagnose the issue is to go to the Diagnostics page, turn on Debugging Mode, run the static file generation again, and then email me the debug log.
Another thing you could try (since you said it worked the first time you tried it) is go to the Settings page, then the Reset tab, and reset the plugin back to its original state and try generating the static files again, and see if that works.
I hope that helps.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] only index.html generatedHi davidak,
I tried this again with v2 of Simply Static and, even with a redirect from http to https, it was still generate a static site successfully.
Have you tried using v2 of Simply Static? If so, and it’s still failing, can you enable debug mode (on the Diagnostics page), run Simply Static, and then email in the debug log? That’ll help me track down where you might be having issues.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Version 2.0.0 Doesn’t Work For MeHi Mike,
I’ve just released v2.0.2 of Simply Static, which includes a new item on the Diagnostics page for checking if WordPress is able to access itself. Is that check returning a green response?

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Version 1.7 -> 1.8 -> Back to 1.7Hi all,
I’d encourage you to try using v2.0.1+ of Simply Static if you haven’t already. There are some significant changes to the codebase, and I believe it may resolve your issues. Let me know if you’re still having trouble after that though.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Zip shows nothing thereHi patxer, ccoward15, and orbitbot,
Could you try using v2.0.1 of Simply Static? I’ve made some significant changes around how we’re generating static files, and folks that previously reported issues have told me that things are working for them now.
Best,
ScottHi hanabelete and web27,
Would you be able to try generating static files again with v2.0.1+ of Simply Static? I’ve made some significant changes to how we’re generating files, and people that previously reported issues generating ZIP files have told me that it’s now working for them.
Best,
ScottHi mrengy,
Can you try this again with v2.0.1+ of Simply Static? I’ve made some significant changes since v1.8, and people that previously were having issues with ZIP files have reported that it is working for them now.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Please hide email addressesJust a quick update on this, I found a plugin that I think will meet your needs:
It’s well-rated, has lots of active installs, and I tried it out on my site and it properly obfuscated email addresses without needing to do anything additional on my part (e.g. no need to use special shortcodes or anything).
I’d give it a try.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Version 2.0.0 Doesn’t Work For MeHi Mike,
Sorry, I can’t edit that post anymore. My apologies.
Anyway, I’ll take a look at adding something to diagnostics on where the requests originate from to make it easier to whitelist ip addresses.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] wp-content excludeFYI, v2.0 has been released and includes the option to include parts of URLs, so you could tell it to exclude /wp-content/ and be good to go.
