In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Not making a copy of Postsdcottingham- Glad you were able to solve the issue you ran into!
tmac1926- Sorry you’re having trouble. That’s really strange that Simply Static would have found the main blog page but then none of the individual blog posts. If you have a link to the site (static or non-static version) that might help me figure out what’s going on.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Awesome! Hope for new Features.Hi Jessy! Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it.
To your first point, yes, having the ability to detect which pages have changed and only update those pages is definitely on the roadmap. There’s quite a bit involved there though, so it’s still a ways off before I’ll be able to implement it.
And thanks for digging into that issue you were having with the images and finding the cause of it! That’s very helpful. I’ll test it out on my side and get that fix in one of the upcoming releases.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] CheersHello! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review!
If I’m following what you’re saying — and I think I am — you’d like to have the ability to just generate static copies of the pages that were most recently edited (instead of creating static copies of every page on the entire site every time).
Yes! I will definitely be working on this. I realize that Simply Static can be slow for larger sites, and generating static copies of every page every time is not optimal.
I don’t have an estimate for when this will get added to Simply Static, but it will make it in there eventually.
Thank you for the kind words, Sarah!
As for the tag pages, I can take a look and check them, but I can’t think of a reason offhand why tag pages specifically wouldn’t work.
Do you have an example of a site where the tag pages aren’t working correctly? (It can be either the original WP version or the version created by SS.)
Hi Charles,
Yes, I did get the patches, thank you! It was indeed a busy week, and this week is looking to be the same, but this is still definitely towards the top of my list to review.
This looks like it should be relatively simple to fix. I’ll take a look. Thanks for reporting it!

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Excellent! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, I really appreciate it!
There are some nice plugins for using Markdown with WordPress too, if you haven’t tried that yet. (It’s what I do!)
That’s a great idea. Though, to be honest, it’s probably not something that we’ll include in the near future.
One idea though, if you did want to upload automatically to github pages… You could set Simply Static to export to a directory and setup that directory as a git repository for github pages (you’re probably already doing this). Then, create a cron job that checks the directory every X minutes, checks for changes via git, and if it detects something new/modified then automatically add those to the git repo, commit with some auto-generated message, and push.
Not the most glamorous solution, but it might be worth a try. Just a thought.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Feature requestI absolutely agree. One of the features we have planned for the near future is the ability to specify directories that you want to include in the static archive, and it will include all of the sub-directories and files within.
I’ll update this thread when that releases.
Thanks for the additional info, Charles. I’m planning to take a look into this this coming week.
That sounds like a bug to me. I’ll take a look and see if I can get that resolved for you in one of the upcoming releases. Thanks so much for taking the time to report this!

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Useful UtilityHi wolfalbert, thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
I’ll take a look into the issue you encountered with not being able to extract the zip generated by Simply Static on Windows and see if there’s anything I might be able to do about it.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Simply… it works!Nicola,
Thank you kindly for taking the time to leave a review! You’re the best.
I’d very much like to ensure that you don’t need to copy any other files or folders over. A couple questions if I may: were you using the most recent version of the plugin (v1.1.1 as of the time of this writing)? Also, do you know how those Revolution slider folders or retina images are linked to (e.g. HTML, CSS, JS, or otherwise)? If you could point me towards the URL of the website that was having issues and let me know which were the problem files/folders that would be great too.
Feel free to respond here or email me at scott@codeofconduct.co.
Thanks!
