Thank you; because I’m unable to enter the admin section of my site, I’m unable to disable my plugins. Do you expect that would cause any problems?

I guess as added info, I trimmed down the xml export into separate posts and comments files, hoping perhaps those would import via the rss import function. It said it was successful and told me happy blogging, but I have posts to show for it.
I’ve tried that already (what I was referring to when saying I generated a new md5-encoded password and placed it manually into the database). I even tried the method in the link you just posted, and that still does not work.
