In reply to: Godaddy for WordPress ? just a big NO.. this is why:I’m now running 6 wordpress sites on Bluehost since my issues with godaddy a few days ago. It loads really fast and I didn’t do anything different on bluehost vs godaddy. Couldn’t be happier. Maybe that’s why wordpress itself has bluehost ranked #1 on their list of hosting. Just some to think about.

I guess this wordpress forum helps for something at godaddy. They, at least, tried to help. This is the email they sent me in regards to this post. I obviously do not agree with them. I’ll let you all decide… http://www.yachtcaptainblog.com is now at bluehost.com with no issues. It is much faster. Not a theme nor plugin defect.
Dear ***** *****,
This message is in regards to your WordPress posting from user ‘ce680pilot’.
I have thoroughly reviewed this matter involving your site yachtcaptainblog.com with our Advanced Hosting support team. In our investigation of the account, the slowness issue appears to be related to the theme in use on this site. We had found other WordPress sites also hosted on this account that do not use the same theme and are loading with no delay. THATS BS. BOTH SITES HAVE SAME THEME.There were two others that load slowly, but we had found them using the same theme as yachtcaptainblog.com. This leads us to believe that there may be an issue with the theme itself that is causing the delays. I would suggest trying another theme to see if this resolves the delays being encountered.
Also, yachtcaptainblog.com had a high amount of content on the homepage. With the page being as long as it was with pictures and other objects, this could also be a cause for the site running slow. I would also recommend disabling plugins one by one as well as one to be sure one being used is not the source of the delay on your site.
Please let us know if we can provide you with further assistance.
Sincerely,
********* *.

In reply to: Godaddy for WordPress ? just a big NO.. this is why:I have finished migrating all my wordpress sites to BlueHost. HUGE difference on all aspects. First of all, I disable the wp-super cache and the site is still pretty damn fast. I have installed hyper cache and Gzip enable. Gzip is not possible on godaddy’s servers. I have never waited more than 2 minutes on the phone for tech support. Godaddy average 9 minutes and then you talk to someone who tries to convince you that it is your setup that is faulty. My sites were slow on the deluxe shared hosting and got worst on the Grid hosting. In fact, my other sites without wordpress got even slower on the grid.
I take care of a friend’s site that is still on godaddy’s server. http://www.yachtcaptainblog.com. You can see how slow it is. He is on the deluxe shared hosting and will be moved over to blue by 9/20/2010 if I can get a break from work. His site has the wp-super cahe plugin. I called godaddy about his site and they agreed that there is a problem with the server because he is has an abusing neighbor. NOT MY PROBLEM. They still didn’t do much about it. The performance has improved a little since that call, but not much.
Josh, do not hesitate, RUN to blue host.

I’m sorry, but I got tired of the BS there. Your company is good for one thing, domains registrar. I can’t post the url publicly, it is a blog for my newborn.Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Godaddy for WordPress ? just a big NO.. this is why:I’m having the same issues with godaddy shared hosting deluxe plan. I tried all the tricks. I’m running 3 wordpress sites and all of them are extremely slow. I also run 2 mybboard forums and they are fast. I have switch to the grid and I’m having the same results. The problems with godaddy tech supports is inconsistency. I hear a different answer everytime. I will be moving to bluehost soon.
