In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] link for Read More page to anchor on another pageI have also tried adding the page URL to the master settings for the “Read More” link and found that unless this was also part of the URL in the entry for the individual testimonial that it would once again yield a 404 error. At this point it is redundant, but I have left it in the master settings. The quest for a correct link to the anchors continues.

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] link for Read More page to anchor on another pageJeff,
I’m going to do what I should have done first and make a list (incomplete, but better than nothing!) of the things I have tried that haven’t worked. I am switching permanently to id’s since name has been deprecated. I will attempt to list first the code in the page, then the url in the HMS Testimonial admin, so it will look a bit odd here.
<a href="#Bennett"> http://dev.stuffadjust.com/testimonials#Bennett <a id="Bennett"> http://dev.stuffadjust.com/testimonials#BennettBoth of these yielded 404 errors.
<a href="#Bennett"> http://dev.stuffadjust.com/testimonials.php?page_id=18#BennettThis gets me to the testimonials page, but it ignores the anchor. I am intentionally targeting the one at the bottom to make sure there is no question about whether or not it succeeds.
I am doing most of my work with Firefox but have also checked in Safari to make sure it’s not a browser issue. So far the results have been consistent.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] link for Read More page to anchor on another pageHi Jeff, I know the link is wrong.
The problem is that when the “read more” or it’s equivalent is clicked, I haven’t been able to get it to lead to the correct location. This isn’t so much a plugin issue as my unfamiliarity with how to structure a URL that leads to a specific anchored link on another page. Most of the solutions online assume it will be on the same page, and the others don’t address the URL issue.
As a suggestion, if this sort of information were included in the documentation it would be hugely helpful. I suspect there are others with lots of testimonials & the desire to have better ways to link the featured one(s) with the entire collection.
Thank you

In reply to: [Quark] gutter widths… a narrower sidebar?Somehow the URL got linked to my ‘Thank you’ above…
I have taken the form issue out of the equation, replacing it with a responsive one. I would still like to make adjustments to the sidebar width. Is this going to take me back to adjusting the grid?

In reply to: [Quark] Quark child themeI asked because it seems odd to me to provide an easy way within the theme to make changes to the CSS when the only way for these changes to be update-proof is within a child theme. This theme is not alone in this and I can’t help but wonder how many people get tripped up by the practice.

In reply to: [WordPress Landing Pages] "Save Draft" deletes everythingIt does the same thing when I click “Publish.” This is useless. Is it possible for this to not be broken?
