When we run your site through Google’s test, it returns a ‘could not load’ error. If you’re seeing a different result, you can use our Mobile Friendly guide to troubleshoot any concerns they’re raising.
If you also see the ‘could not load’ message, then you will need to review your server configuration to ensure Google’s bot can access your site. Google Webmaster Tools should be of help, particularly their robots.txt tester (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6062598?hl=en).

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] GarbageHi,
We don’t appreciate such a harsh review! Not necessary. The issue you’re describing has to do with setting up your caching plugin to work well with WPtouch.
There are lots of freely available guides online that show you how to setup WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, and other cache plugins to work nicely alongside WPtouch.
Hope you change your mind and give it a shot!
Hi,
The issues you describe just require a little bit of setup to work together. For example, if you google WPtouch and WP Super Cache you’ll find lots of helpful guides and tutorials.
What we provide and offer for free took us thousands of hours of work, and we’ve been maintaining the free version of WPtouch for 8 years— long before there was a pro version.
Hi,
I think it’s unfair to post a 1-star review of the free version when you purchased the pro product. It’s disingenuous. We always work to make our customers happy— but not everyone gets what they want out of the product, and that’s okay.
We’ve been doing this for 8 years— we’re not a new company, and we stand behind our work and our tenure in the WordPress community as a tentpole product.
Banal view? Current version does not work? Sounds less like a review and more like a support thread, no?
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your enthusiasm for WPtouch! We’ll certainly be reviewing the new theme colour tag (and how we might best support Chrome’s web app support).

Product Manager, WPtouchA little further detail:
If you are seeing intermittent mobile-friendly results from Google’s test tool but your site shows the mobile view consistently when you access it with your mobile device (e.g., you have eliminated any cache issues with plugins on your site), you may need to speak to your web host about caching and request routing being done by their system.
If the Google Mobile-Friendly thumbnail shows a poorly formatted version of your mobile view (missing icons, menu fully expanded), this generally indicates that the Google bot is unable to access the plugin’s stylesheets and JavaScript. Check your robots.txt file to ensure that googlebot is allowed access to /wp-content/plugins/wptouch.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] samá reklamaIt hurts most when you receive a 1-star review in a different language. Makes you fear you’re being cursed at!
The translation from Google can’t be right “Nonsense full ad”.
We can only assume you’re upset that you can’t use full advertising in the free version of WPtouch.
As we’ve stated in other reviews that had a similar opinion, we feel strongly that users who wish to profit off of advertising should be willing to pay for our work.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] Very goodThank you for the 5-star review!
Hi,
We think a 0-star review because the product is (in your testing) not working how you think it should is a little heavy handed.
We’ve been working on, and improving WPtouch since 2008— a very long time. It is true that we prefer to push the boundaries and develop the product from a future-forward mindset, and this means browsers and devices that have less than 3% marketshare are not considered deal breakers for us.
We’d prefer our plugin deliver an advanced, polished mobile experience for the majority of mobile web users, than a mediocre one that “works” on all devices and browsers imaginable.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] AvoidYou can take the Google Mobile Friendly test here:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/That will tell you if your site works well on mobile devices. If not, using WPtouch will get you there! We’re on Google’s preferred list for being Mobile Friendly ahead of the changes they are making on April 21st.
If you don’t know about the changes, you can read about them here:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.ca/2014/11/helping-users-find-mobile-friendly-pages.htmlIn a nutshell, Google will be ranking Mobile Friendly websites higher, and unoptimized websites lower. The test tool will show you the results Google will use in determining whether a site is mobile friendly or not.
Sorry to hear that it wasn’t working for you out-of-the-box— most times when users don’t see the mobile optimized theme displaying it’s because they have a cache plugin in use that needs to be configured properly to work with WPtouch.
We have guides for all cache plugins available here:
https://www.wptouch.com/support/knowledgebase/optimizing-caching-plugins-for-mobile-use/Thanks very much for the short and sweet review!

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] Clean but no controlsHi, thanks for the review. We’ll respond below to your points.
It’s a nice look, but it strips sidebar out.
WPtouch has always done away with the WordPress sidebar. Mobile is all about the main content, not meta-data and secondary content. We’ve never supported sidebars and have no plans too. Long pages that scroll forever don’t make for a compelling mobile website in our experience (we’ve been working in mobile and with WPtouch since 2008).
Adds a footer – but I have no idea where it got it from our WP theme.
The footer is customizable in the theme settings of the WPtouch admin panel. We don’t take things from desktop themes, we take content directly from WordPress and re-display it in our mobile-optimized themes.
Offers no controls at all. Probably because there’s a paid version.
That’s just not accurate. WPtouch contains dozens of controls and customizable aspects for its theme— and the Pro version just adds many more (and additional themes and extensions). The free version is not a watered down version of Pro— it’s still a powerful mobile tool in its own right.
Their own WP site is a mess – can’t click on resources at bottom, and can’t even sign up!
Not sure where you went— wptouch.com is our website. If it didn’t look or work right for you, you might be using an older or outdated web browser.
