In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Totally broken? On Timely’s site, the only “standard” version for download is 1.9.4.
This is the version I installed on a client’s site.
On my other sites, I have an invitation to upgrade to 1.9.4. I’m not using the pro version, and certainly won’t upgrade to 1.9.4 standard until I’m confident it won’t mess up my other sites.
I have posted the other problems in this forum: over-expanding agenda view, event times flipping around in a random way when saving posts… I tried the plugin with the default theme and nothing changed. In addition, the theme has nothing to do with the event times changing when updating a post.
There are no plugin conflicts, I checked that too.
When I uninstalled the plugin I got a 500 error and my whole site was down; had to bak. the htaccess file to get it up again.
I’m mostly concerned that so many people have tagged this version as “broken” with WP 3.5.1 It does indeed seem to be the case… I love the plugin and would like to upgrade, but I’m terrified to do so right now.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Totally broken?I should have mentioned that I’m using 1.9.4-standard with WordPress 3.5.1…

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Expanding too much in agenda viewAnother request for a fix; I have a 600×800 image in a post, and the whole thing shows up in agenda view. Looks pretty nasty…

In reply to: [Pinboard] Remove search barI just put an empty text widget in the header. 🙂
I went back and copied and pasted the “raw” code… It’s now working perfectly. Thanks!!
Hi – I get a fatal error when trying to activate the plugin…
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in (…)/wp-content/plugins/gce-add-text-to-widget.php on line 6
My host is running php 5.2.17, so I understand it won’t support certain functions. Is there a way I can rewrite the plugin so it will work on my server?
Thanks…
Bazinga! Everything works! 🙂 Thanks for everything.
Oops… I’m having problems installing, it breaks the site… I updated from the plugins page, got a 500 error; removed the plugin by ftp, reinstalled from the plugin installer and still have a 500 error… Sorry to be such a permanent pain in the tush!
Thanks – have created an account. I’ll work on the translation as time permits.
I see that there’s a login required but no indication as to how to register. I’d be happy to do some work on the French translation, and I’m sure some members of the French-speaking community will be glad to participate.
Glad to have helped. 😉 I’ll check out the French translation too. Thanks!
Well, I had a js problem on another plugin, and after hours of trying to figure out what was wrong, the helpdesk referred me to Bluehost… I’m on a Mac, and none of the browsers work for these two situations. Yet the same plugin runs on my other sites, and works just fine. Sounds like it might be a plugin conflict then… but I did try disabling all the other plugins, and nothing helped.
Can I pm you the address of the site running BuddyPress Media?
I seem to be having js problems on another site on the same server… I’ll shoot a note to Bluehost to ask about it. If they can’t help me I’ll send you the link (it’s a private site.) Thanks for responding!

In reply to: [LoginWP (Formerly Peter's Login Redirect)] needed buddypress suport+1 for Buddypress support; I can’t seem to find an easy way to make a Buddypress site completely private with a new user approval process…
Woo hoo! I figured it out.
I created a new top-level menu item in appearances->menu->custom links with the label “My Category”, and gave it a fake URL (which I erased once the menu item was in place, as WP won’t let us create a new menu item without a link.)
I put that menu item where I wanted it in my main menu.
I then added a “categories” menu item from my category, and dragged it BELOW that placeholder menu item, and it works.
I now realize that the person who posted this comment:
…did the same thing. I just hadn’t understood it.
Perhaps this should be included in the faqs, that is, if it’s the way the plugin is supposed to be handled?
Thanks for your quick response!
