My version of FTP doesn’t have an Apply button, just an OK button.

Thanks so much! I finally got in. However, I’m having problems with CHMODing my files.

I’ve been following the The GoDaddy Installation Fix tutorial post. Ok, I log in to WS_FTP. I upload the files into my wordpress directory (already configured). Once they’re uploaded I right click all the files, scroll down and click the chmod (UNIX) option. I click all the little boxes, and hit ok. But when I do that, I get the command not understood message.

I’ve tried this in other FTP programs, and still get the same message.

I have WS_FTP but I don’t even know how to connect to my site through it. I’ve tried everything, and I keep getting a red “User cannot log in” message in the textbox.

How do I set it up? What do I put in the host address, Godaddy or my site?

    Kahil-

I unzipped WP on my computer and changed the configuration. I changed localhost to the one given to me on my database.

Ok, heres where I think I screwed up: I uploaded them all using the ftp client on my control panel. Do I have to use an installed ftp client to use WP? I’ve heard that I have to CHMOD the files, but I don’t even know how to connect using WS_FTP (so any help there would be great.)

Anyway, when I open up the wp-admin/install.php file, I get an “error: this page was either deleted or not created” message.

Is it the FTP client or is it something I’m missing?
