Thank you for reaching out with this question. You can assign listing owners with our CSV import function but the process does not create new users. You’ll need to assign the existing WordPress users in the CSV data file. You can learn more about how to correctly set up the CSV file in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/csv-import-export/

Hi @rdholla
Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
You might find that reviewing this page in our Knowledge Base would be helpful: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/directory-naming-guide/
It’s possible that the page is names wrong. It looks like you have the premium version of the plugin installed. If you’d like us to review your settings for this, please contact us with a link to this forum thread here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Hi @rdholla
Unfortunately, with our hefty feature list and our ongoing support work, we lack the bandwidth to do that kind of customization for sites, but there are a few great resources to help you out here.
1) Codeable has WordPress expert developers available for short-term projects
2) Tilden Tasks does longer WordPress tasks, but they break it down to 1 task per day.
3) Upwork (formerly known as oDesk) to help if you think this is beyond your current skill set. There are a lot of decent folks on there as well.Hi @awr10e
I think the only way to accomplish that for sure would be to disable the front-end listing submission and you would have complete control over those functions. That would mean that listing owners couldn’t edit their listings at all.
If you’d like to go that route, you can turn off the listing submit button under Directory > Settings > Listings > Buttons or you can disable it completely under Directory > Settings > Advanced.
Hi @awr10e
Thank you for your questions!
To keep things easy to read, I have provided answers to your questions inline below.
- Assign a category by default to a listing – That’s something we can consider for future development, but not something the plugin allows for today.
- Stop users from been able to add and delete listings (The user role I have only allows editing of posts but an still delete) – This is also not a setting that Business Directory Plugin has. Do you require registration in the plugin to post listings? That may help cut down on the problem. You can set listings to be pending before going live; that way, you can review listings and decline any that you don’t want. That setting is under Directory > Settings > Listings > General Settings.
- Remove a Field Label from the frontend – I’m not sure what you mean by frontend, but you can remove a field label for all listings in the field settings. Find the field you want to remove the label for under Directory > Directory Content > Form Fields and then find the Display label and/or icon field and choose the appropriate setting there.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Thanks for your question. We currently aren’t compatible with any multi-vendor plugins, like WooCommerce.
That’s something we can consider for future development, but not something the plugin allows for today. We’re definitely considering it for inclusion, but we don’t have a specific timeframe when it will be available at this time.
I think this is a great suggestion and could benefit many others. I’ve made a note of your request and we’ll keep it on our radar as we plan out our roadmap for the future.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] import users and ads at the same timeThank you for reaching out about this. With the plugin CSV import process, there isn’t a way to import WordPress users. However, there may be a WordPress user import plugin that would work.
Hi @nlavine
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
The CSV import process does indeed replace the old list if and only if the sequence ID is used when you import listings. Do you have that in your file? If so, that would explain it.
If not, please contact us here with more information and a link to this post: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Hi @jbourden
Thank you for reaching out about this. The default category separator is a semi-colon (;) So your categories should be formatted using the correct category slug and the correct separator. It sounds like in your case that would be category-one;category-two but you’ll want to be sure to check the import screen for the correct category slug to use for the column. Please check that on the Import page in the section entitled CSV File Formatting
You can also learn more about how to do the import in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/csv-import-export/
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I’ve added the feature request for this and we appreciate you sharing the solution for attachments.
As for the question “Do you happen to know how to call all the form fields into an array?” – I don’t, and I have checked with the developers and they do not have an easy answer for that at this time as there may not be a function that gets all of the values that you want.
Best regards,
~Bobbie
That’s something we can consider adding in the future, but it’s not available today.

Thank you for your input!
Hi @miyuru9090
Thank you for reaching out about this. Unfortunately, this is not a feature that we have at this time. It’s something we can consider adding in the future, however.
Hi @delcasart
I’m sorry to hear that you have run into this issue!
If you intend to remove all Business Directory Plugin data (listings, categories, tags, settings, etc.) and associated tables, you might want to run the uninstall procedure available via Directory → Settings → Miscellaneous → Uninstall.
This makes sure your WordPress setup is as if Business Directory Plugin was never installed.
Will that work for what you need? Please let me know.
Hi @fmesynapse
Thank you for reaching out about this.
You can achieve two different forms by using category-specific fields. We have an article that will help you with that here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-do-i-add-category-specific-fields/
As for two different directories, that’s usually accomplished by using two top-level categories. We also have an article about that here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/multiple-instances-same-site/
I hope that helps. If there’s something else I can help you with, please let me know.
Glad you found the issue @mattcops !
