Hi Jeremy (@jeherve)
Thank you so much for this. I suppose I should have guessed there would be something fabulous like this for me to use.
Thank you!

MikePersonally, I think having these options hidden is really poor. Regardless of site speed or anything, it’s further complicating a complex CMS: it reduces usability.
Edit … My context is I develop sites and hand them over to my clients. Agreed Jetpack is complex, it just is. That’s OK. But the default settings add a whole load of stuff to the admin site that further complicate it for my user once I hand over. So … your aim is to improve usability for the Jetpack user, me I suppose, I don’t feel it has done that, I understand Jetpack, I had to find where to manage the settings, it got hard to use. My aim is to improve usability for my client, Jetpack adds a lot of elements to further complicate logging in and adding a blog post which I want to turn off. Having said all this, you have a tough job!

In reply to: [Image Gallery Google Style] RESPONSIVEHi @hossein911
I amended the plugin.
The default behaviour of the plugin is now to open the panel at all screen widths. Previously the thumbnail linked to the attachment page on screens less than 480px wide.

In reply to: [Image Gallery Google Style] RESPONSIVEHi @hossein911
Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated.
I checked out the link you provided and the plugin seems to be working as I intended.
I think you mean the panel does not open on mobile, instead, the image links through to the attachment page. This is deliberate. The opening panel is designed to give an enlarged view of the image, on mobile, an image opening in the panel is most likely going to be smaller than the original, so the plugin links through to the attachment. The plugin is coded to make this happen on screens that are 480px wide or less.
Is this your experience? If so, what would you prefer?
If not, please describe the problem more specifically and I will respond.
I am intending to offer an option in the paid version to set the screen width at which the plugin switches from opening a panel to linking to the attachment page, but have not added it yet.

In reply to: WP_Query, Custom Taxonomy, Custom Field Comparison@bcworkz … I cannot thank you enough. Adding this code solved my problem.
I broadly understand what I am doing when I implement your fix, but it is a level of detail I am not familiar with.
This is the second time you have come to my aid in the last few years when I am facing a problem and am at a loss. Thank you. It is truly appreciated and makes the world seem like a better place.

MikeForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [The J A Mortram] RSS on FeedlyHi and Thank You
There should a regular feed and a comments feed. The regular feed is at:
comments is at:
http://yourdomain.com/comments/feed
I am not very familiar with WordPress Feed settings, you can set whether full posts or excerpts are published, and how many posts a feed includes, in admin/settings/reading. Otherwise, I am not sure.
Let me know if this helps.

In reply to: [The J A Mortram] Right-hand sidebarHi 8crama
Apologies for the delay getting back to you. I have only just seen this.
There is no provision in this template for a right-hand sidebar. This is not something I intend to add either.
There are three widget areas in the theme. All centered. One below the header image or logo (the tagline area), one below the header menu (the header area) and one above the footer copyright statement (the footer area).
I suggest putting your subscribe widget in the tagline or header widget area. It will be centered not top right, but this is perhaps the best option.
I suggest adding social media icons (follow buttons) to either to the header menu or the donate or footer menus. Alternatively, if you want share buttons, you could install The J A Mortram Share This Story (https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-j-a-mortram-share-this-story) plugin.

In reply to: Amending Add to Gallery Image Filter in a PostThank you so much bcworkz!
I had begun to think there was not an answer without working with SQL.
I really appreciate your pointers and guidance. I’m going to take a look, but this is perhaps a bit above me right now.
If I do work anything out I will post it!

In reply to: Amending Add to Gallery Image Filter in a PostA little further forward. The taxonomy query is being applied, but it is the search query AND the tax_query. I want the search query expanded to include the custom taxonomy or for my amended $query object to be the search query OR the tax_query.
Stumped for the moment.

In reply to: Amending Add to Gallery Image Filter in a PostSlowly moving forward. I am using this function to output stuff to the PHP error log as I develop.
if (!function_exists('write_log')) { function write_log ( $log ) { if ( true === WP_DEBUG ) { if ( is_array( $log ) || is_object( $log ) ) { error_log( print_r( $log, true ) ); } else { error_log( $log ); } } } }I’ve managed to identify when a user is in Edit Gallery and is searching for images, now I am just stuck making the the search include custom taxonomies. I tried:
function filter_test ( $query ) { write_log( 'THIS IS THE START OF MY CUSTOM DEBUG' ); write_log( $query ); if ( $query['orderby'] == 'date' && isset( $query['s'] ) ) { $search = $query['s']; $tax_query = array( 'relation' => 'OR', array( 'taxonomy' => 'people', 'field' => 'name', 'terms' => array( $search ), 'operator' => 'IN' ), array( 'taxonomy' => 'groups', 'field' => 'name', 'terms' => array( $search ), 'operator' => 'IN' ) ); $query['tax_query'] = $tax_query; } write_log( $query ); return $query; } add_filter( 'ajax_query_attachments_args', 'filter_test', 10, 1);Any additional help or thoughts really super appreciated.

In reply to: Amending Add to Gallery Image Filter in a PostThanks bcworkz. Much appreciated.
I tried working on this. I can definitely see the filter applied as a post with a gallery in it loads, and can see the filter applied when I then edit the gallery, choose add to gallery, and add text to the search box. I’m stuck in two places:
I can’t differentiate between post with gallery in it loading and post with gallery in it where the gallery is being edited … I can’t identify the search query once a gallery in a post is edited.
This is my current (not correct) code:
function filter_test ( $query ) { $search = the_search_query(); $tax_query = array( 'relation' => 'OR', array( 'taxonomy' => 'people', 'field' => 'name', 'terms' => array( $search ), 'operator' => 'IN' ), array( 'taxonomy' => 'groups', 'field' => 'name', 'terms' => array( $search ), 'operator' => 'IN' ) ); $query['tax_query'] = $tax_query; return $query; } add_filter( 'ajax_query_attachments_args', 'filter_test', 10, 1);I can’t workout how to output the query object when the filter is applied so I can review it and understand it better. I often use var_dump or print_r to output stuff (which usually breaks the page) but gives a moment to see what is going on. I assume this filter is called after the page is loaded …
Any additional help really super appreciated.
