Fair enough. It is easy enough to work around and I can live with it, and really I needed to open the image most of the time afterwards anyway so it pretty much skips a step. Thanks again!

In the Edit Post page itself. I have been playing with it and the link above (Insert/Upload) makes it work just fine. I use the latest version of FireFox. That is odd that it is a browser issue. So it is only IE and FF, mozilla, opera, safari and the rest should be fine?

    Esmi, thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help. I was so worried when the thought of the site being compromised. Not simply my stuff, as the blog isn’t really all that valuable as it was young, and not even for everything else I had. But simply for the crack in the system. I can sleep better now knowing that it really was just slight stupidity on my part =)

    Cheers!

Ok, so apparently using the upload/insert button makes it work as it should. My brother did have a theory when I first told him about this. Does the drag and drop feature use base 64 for the webserver to grab it?

Anyhow, I think this is a bug or at least it is something that should be noted. Because I am sure there are a lot of people out there that would not like their stuff to be displayed like that, and it does cause issues with how things are displayed (ie no text allowed before an image).

Now that I know, I will just use the insert button. Not as convienant but will work just the same.

I just drag and drop it into the post. Should I do it some other way?

I have, my brother is the one who takes care of the server. What is curious about that I had 1 post in 2011 that the image was accepted no problem, it was uploaded and worked just fine. In 2012 this problem started. Even after 2012 came the old image was still there as it was and should be. Of course it is gone now as part of the wipe.

I doubt he would have done something to have caused it to go to base 64 and not know what he did would have done that. Though if I knew what kind of things to mention to him to look at he would have a look for me.

The results are the same with the Twenty Eleven theme, It was tested before the current one was in place.

I understand now. That is quite the trick. I was wondering how it was still possible to have the image yet not have the image in my files. Though, in theory (I don’t know for sure), it is possible to put bad code hidden in the code for the image.

Uggg, I hate having to do this stuff.

I may have figured out part of the problem. Though I am not sure. Looking on the edit screen the HTML view the link to the image is some astronomicaly long string, it almost looks like what it would look like if you were to open the image in a text editor. It looks this way when I look at the page source of the post itself.

Does this effect anything? Or is this how it should be?

I don’t think so, this is why. Although one image that I have seems to work just fine with this long string (then why don’t the others), the first image shows up with a proper link as I would expect to see one.

How do I make it so this doesn’t happen?

I also have a problem with Photos not appearing. I have increased my size allowed in settings. Medium is not 1024×1024 and large is 4096×4096. Most of my photos with (ever so slight) tweeking will fit under these rules.

What is really odd is that I was able to post pictures on the blog before. But for some reason it is no longer working. I had posted 2 before but now I can’t. Even resizing something to 300×300 (which is not nearly good enough for what I want) and it still will not show up. SO now I know it is not about pixels or disc size (80k).

What else should I try to resolve this? (I posted this here because do we really need multiple “Photo won’t appear” posts.

    smyleinn,
