In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Google Analytics for WooCommerceHello @sandroquantic ,
No problem at all, I actually made a quick video instead. In it, you can first see the setup with GA for WooCommerce (in Complian as well), and then GTM added through a plugin that allows inserting snippets.
As you’ll notice, before consent the cookies are not present, but right after consent they appear correctly.

AntonioHello @tekno79 ,
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry about the issue you’re experiencing.
I checked your site and I can confirm the failed request to:
https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-S5SDEK7KLMThis is not caused by Complianz, as we simply make the request based on the Measurement ID you provide. If the request fails, it means the ID itself is not valid. If you click the URL directly, you’ll see that even Google returns a 404 page saying “The requested URL was not found on this server”. (screenshot)
This indicates that the Measurement ID you’ve entered is incorrect and needs to be replaced with the correct one. You can test this by using a sample tag (e.g.
G-1234567), which will correctly load the script. (screenshot)I recommend carefully checking your Google Analytics environment and retrieving the correct tag. Google provides a guide on where to find your Measurement ID here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9539598?hl=en.
Once you update the ID, the script should load correctly and the cookies will be set after consent.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Doing it WrongHello @sachristan ,
Thank you for reaching out and for reporting this. We are aware of the warning, and we’re planning to address it either by merging the Terms & Conditions plugin into Complianz or by refactoring the code of the stand-alone plugin. In any case, please note that this PHP warning does not constitute an actual issue and won’t affect functionality. If you disable debug mode, the warning will no longer appear.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Banner does not appearHello @goerlichdesign ,
Thank you for reaching out.
I checked both of your sites and noticed that on anja-ludwig.de only the CSS banner was loaded, while on the others neither the JS nor the CSS were. Did you perhaps upload the plugin from an older version, like 6.x.x? If so, updating directly from a major version can sometimes cause issues like this. In such cases, performing a clean uninstall usually works best: go to Tools > Data, select “Clear all data from Complianz on uninstall”, and then reinstall the plugin.
If you could share a Loom video showing the configuration with the console open, that would be very helpful for us to better understand what’s going on.

Even after sending a follow-up email months ago, their support never got back to us. For the moment, we are marking this as resolved. If their support replies, we will update you as soon as possible.Best regards,

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Complianz messes styles Bricks BuilderHello @alfredo49 ,
Thank you for the follow-up.
I’ve tried to reproduce the error with Google Maps and reCAPTCHA enabled on Bricks, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to. On your site I also noticed two additional Bricks-related premium plugins: Bricksforge and Bricks Advanced Themer. From experience with builders like Elementor, third-party addons can sometimes overlap and cause issues like this: when we block a service before consent, the addon’s script ends up blocked as well, which breaks the builder’s own script.
In these cases, there are usually two approaches:
- Integrate everything together [not ideal, because of external dependencies (eg. a simple update could break all)];
- Whitelist the specific scripts so they won’t get blocked (the more reliable solution here).
At the moment, we haven’t had other reports of this issue, yours is the first. For now, I’d recommend whitelisting the Bricks scripts, and if more similar reports come in, we’ll act promptly on our side to provide a fix.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Google Analytics for WooCommerceHello @sandroquantic ,
In this case, since you’re embedding Google Analytics for WooCommerce with Complianz, you can skip that step and move directly to the second one. That will cover your setup and ensure everything is blocked prior to consent.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] GTM (Default Trigger Marketing)Hello @rayeason ,
Yes, if you’re having issues with that, do it as well.Hello @dillhausen ,
Thank you very much for pointing this out. I double-checked the code, and indeed the function related to the site logo inserts an
<a>tag, which makes the element focusable and links it back to the homepage. As you noticed, uploading a separate image as the logo doesn’t add the link, so this explains the difference.I’ve created an internal task for our team to review this behavior. In the meantime, the best solution is to continue using the uploaded logo image as you’re doing now.
Thanks a lot for your feedback, it’s really helpful!

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] GTM (Default Trigger Marketing)Hello @rayeason ,
Thank you for your update. Yes, creating the {{Event}} variable was indeed the correct step (screenshot here). I’ve replicated the tag on my side and had no errors.
If the trigger still gives you issues, you can safely set it to “All Custom Events” (screenshot), it will still fire correctly once the Marketing category is accepted.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Complianz messes styles Bricks BuilderHello @alfredo49 ,
Thanks for the details. I set up Bricks 2.0.2 with PHP 8.4 and the latest Complianz on my side, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.
Could you share a bit more so I can match your setup?
- Which Bricks elements/widgets are on the affected pages (exact blocks or templates)?
- A sample URL where it happens and the steps to trigger it
- Whether Integrations → Services → Google Maps/YouTube/etc. placeholders are enabled
- If the issue disappears with Safe Mode on, or when disabling specific integrations/caching
Your whitelist snippet is fine as a temporary workaround. If we can pinpoint the exact inline handles that get blocked, we can look at baking them into our integration so you won’t need the filter.
Thanks in advance.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] dont see consent bannerHello @yaronkes3005,
Thank you for reaching out.
I checked your site, but I don’t see the plugin active at the moment. Could you please re-enable it and temporarily disable LiteSpeed or any other caching plugins so we can properly check your site and assist you?
Thank you in advance.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Wrong Language in ComplianzHello @maximol94,
Thank you for reaching out. I’m glad to hear that you were able to solve the issue. From now on, if our plugin, or any other plugin, doesn’t update translations through the standard WordPress update function, you can force the translation update using this useful plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-update-translations.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Antonio
