Hello @dat98cbr,
Thank you for reaching out.
I am sorry to hear that. I did some internal checking, and it seems there’s a current bug on our end causing this behavior. You may rest assured that we’re working on resolving this as soon as possible.
That said, we can work around the issue for now by asking you to modify the record directly in the
cmplz_cookiestable in the database. You can look up the cookie name and then manually edit the record for each language. Here’s a video. You can do the same for the service as well by going to the
cmplz_servicestable. The steps are the same there. The examples in the videos are for the Italian language, but the process is valid for every language.
Please let me know how it goes.
Hello @mloe123 ,
Their developer still has not answered me on this topic. Here’s the link to their support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/php-warning-with-addtoany-share-buttons-and-complianz.
For the time being, I will close this thread, as we have done everything in our power. As soon as their developer answers us, we’ll comment here.

AntonioHello @jpnl ,
Thank you for reaching out.
You are correct, we experienced a temporary outage with cookiedatabase.org earlier today which caused that error.
The site has now been restored, and we are monitoring it to ensure it remains stable. Everything should be working correctly now.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Cookie database scan not workingHi @tdsm ,
Thanks for reaching out.
That API call to
api.onsleek.aiis not part of our plugin. It’s likely being triggered by another plugin or your theme. Our scanner crawls all the pages and scripts active on your website, which is probably why you’re seeing that error message during the scan process. If that third-party script is failing, it might interfere with the rest of the scan.
As a troubleshooting step, we recommend temporarily disabling the plugin or feature responsible for that API call and then running the cookie scan again. This will help determine if it’s the source of the categorization issue.
Let us know what you find.

AntonioHello @klaassemanoah ,
This is JavaScript, not CSS. You can add this snippet using a plugin like WPCode. Here’s attached their documentation so you can see how to do it: https://wpcode.com/categories/docs/getting-started. It’s very straightforward.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Stuck on Website scanHello @shustus ,
Thank you for your feedback.
When the Website Scan is disabled via the API menu, Complianz automatically falls back to the local iframe scanner (the previous scanning method). This is expected behavior.
Because the local scanner works by loading your site inside an iframe, its results can vary depending on factors like browser or server caching. That’s why you may sometimes see slightly different cookie counts (e.g., 100/120) or cookies from plugins you’ve previously used or that left cached assets behind.
I hope this clears things up! When using the local scanner, it’s usually best to run the scan in an incognito window to get the most accurate results. That said, I’ll update you as soon as we have the branch ready with the possible fix. Thank you for your patience.

Hello @kingbrown75,
Thank you for the detailed follow-up.
To answer your main question: there isn’t a free way to obtain or replicate Google Consent Mode v2. Consent Mode v2 requires the paid upgrade; without it, you can still run a basic setup that respects the WP Consent API, but you won’t get the v2 consent signals or its advanced behavior.
If you’d like to proceed without Consent Mode v2, please let me know whether you prefer to use Site Kit only or Google Tag Manager, and I’ll outline the exact configuration steps for your chosen setup.
Also, just to let you know, the page https://complianz.io/statistics-implementation is now back online, fully updated.
Best regards,
AntonioHello @nummu4 ,
Thank you for reaching out.
I checked your setup, and it looks like the same Google Analytics tag is being inserted simultaneously by Complianz, Google Analytics for WooCommerce, and a custom integration about the Consent Mode v2. This overlap can easily lead to redundant or conflicting tag behavior.
In this case, it would be best to let Google Analytics for WooCommerce handle all tracking by enabling the integration in
Complianz > Integrations > Plugins > WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration.
When this integration is active, the fields in Statistics Configuration will be hidden, and GA for WooCommerce will be the only plugin inserting thegtagscript. This will remove the redundancy and ensure proper event tracking. To properly test this, you should try with Complianz disabled, as the Google Analytics tag is being added directly by the external plugin. I tested the tag myself using only Google Analytics for WooCommerce, and it fired correctly.
With that said, regarding the main issue: tracking specific events; I would recommend contacting the support team of Google Analytics for WooCommerce, as they can best assist you in making sure your eCommerce events are tracked properly.

AntonioHello,
Thank you for the detailed explanation, that’s very clear and helpful.
OMGF or not, since you mentioned that you’re now using WordPress’ built-in functionality for self-hosting fonts (“I am using the intrinsic WordPress functionality for self-hosting fonts”), you should actually select “Yes” under the Google Fonts question in the Wizard. This option isn’t specific to OMGF; it simply indicates that you are handling the hosting of Google Fonts yourself. So in your case, selecting Yes would be correct.
That said, even if you leave the setting on No, there’s no issue with your site, everything is working properly. The dashboard message is more of a reminder than an actual problem, you can remove it from the dashboard by clicking on the “x” on the right.
I’ll also make a note to review the behavior of reCAPTCHA loading Google Fonts, as your point about adding this connection is a good suggestion and could indeed improve the user experience.
I hope this clarifies things!

AntonioHello @klaassemanoah,
Thank you for reaching out.
You can use the attached snippet, it will allow both the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy links to open in a new tab. If you only want the Privacy Policy to open in a new tab, simply remove the Cookie Policy part from the code.
Here’s the Gist:https://gist.github.com/tonai126/5df78817d54abadfbc28ab1a38367dc9.
I hope this helps!

AntonioHello @mloe123 ,
Thank you so much for taking the time to debug this, it has been a great help. I’ve checked the files of the AddToAny Share Buttons plugin and was able to identify the cause of the problem. In the meantime, I’ve reported this issue to our team and also reached out to them so they can fix it on their side, since it’s actually coming from their plugin. Apparently, they are no longer compliant with the Consent API (according to the Consent API plugin), and the action inside their plugin loads too early, which results in the PHP warning.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] elementorFrontend is not definedHello @petadol ,
Thank you for reaching out and for the report. Could you please explain how exactly you reproduce this error? I’ve checked the site and, after accepting the banner, there are no errors showing in the console.
I also noticed that the banner CSS is not up to date, so it’s necessary to save the banner again in the wizard and clear the cache. That should fix the styling.
That said, I also see that you are using Complianz Premium. Due to WordPress.org rules, we cannot provide support for commercial plugins here. Please contact us directly through our website support form so we can assist you further. For this reason, the thread will be closed.
Thanks for your understanding.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] I hate loosing timeHello @matteolavaggi ,
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your feedback.
Could you please tell us a bit more about what led to this impression? We clearly state in the plugin description that some premium features are available, while the core plugin remains completely free, open source, and fully functional. The code is also publicly available on GitHub, and we always welcome suggestions and contributions from the community.
If you could let us know the specific points that felt unclear, it would really help us improve how we communicate this in the future.
Kind regards,
AntonioHello @mloe123 ,
Thank you for reaching out.
This specific issue with translation loading was actually addressed and fixed in the Complianz plugin’s code several months ago. However, it can sometimes reappear if another plugin on your site triggers certain actions earlier than expected during the WordPress request, which might cause this particular problem to resurface. Following some reports, we’ve also discovered other causes for this issue reappearance, and our team is actively investigating and resolving them.
So, unless you’re running an outdated version of Complianz (in this case, my suggestion is to update the plugin), I recommend you try a few troubleshooting steps:
- Disable wp_debug temporarily (if it’s currently enabled) to see if the notices disappear.
- Deactivate all other plugins on your site, then reactivate them one by one, checking after each activation to see if the notice reappears. This will help you pinpoint the plugin that might be causing the conflict.
If you need further assistance or have any other questions, we are at your disposal.
Kind Regards,
AntonioHello @koupmi,
Thank you for your message and for sharing your feedback. I understand your frustration, not being able to directly edit the main banner text can feel limiting when you just want to make quick changes.
For websites using the TCF framework, the banner text is part of the standardized consent layer. This is required to remain compliant with the Transparency & Consent Framework, so we cannot simply override it without breaking compliance.
That said, I agree that more flexibility would improve the experience. I will pass your feedback to our product team so it can be discussed internally.
About the unanswered ticket, we are receiving reports that some support requests are not coming through, and we are currently monitoring this.
Thank you again for bringing this up, your feedback helps us better understand where improvements are needed.
Best regards,
Antonio
