In reply to: New WordPress Support Forums! (Unofficial)What’s up with this thread? Where is the initial introductory post and where are the links?
The first post I see is from Matt who says the thread will not be deleted.
However apparently all the posts before that post have already been deleted 🙂

In reply to: How to merge three different wordpress blogsIt requires you to manually merge the contents of four tables, not very complicated, shouldn’t take you more few hours at most, if you do it carefully and have phpmyadmin installed.
Backup first.

In reply to: BAStats & Host IP 255.255.255.255This looks like a plugin problem to me. I think your best bet would be to either diff between the two versions of the plugin or searh for that special IP in the code or best to make efforts to contact the author.

You can have RSS feed displayed for each category. Take a look at my blog on the left panel. Is this what you are looking for?

In reply to: Less Blog- & Refererspam?Same here. Things are quiet.
Maybe they have become frustrated trying to spam WP users using such varied array of options 🙂
I think they are revising their business plan and possibly found a cheaper alternative. Let’s wait and see.
podz> holographic on this
Umm.. can you clarify that please. What do you mean by holographic in this context.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Redirecting Feed from Blogger to WordPress> I used Feedburner to publish (is that the right term?) my feed on the old blog.
Just go to feedburner and change the feed URL to the feed URL of your new blog. That’s it!
Note: Feedburner supports atom and rss. So does wordpress. It provides feeds in three formats. Personally I stick with RSS 2.0.

In reply to: Better way to do a user newsletter? Is there a plugin which allows daily mailing list (with days entries) subscription and maintenance?
I am aware of scriptygoddess’s plugin. However that is for individual posts only. For high volume blogs that is not suitable.

What can I say. It seems so far comment spammers haven’t caught with the sophisticated ways of email spammers yet.It is actually because they want to score high on keywords like poker and not p0ker. Search engines give much relevance to the keywords in your domain name and url. It doesn’t help their cause to misspell.
I keep the blacklist as short as possible to prevent any delay before serving legitimate pages. As it stands today it imposes no measurable delay on load testing.

In reply to: referral spam from random wordpress blogswhoami > One of the funnest things I ever did was to redirect all the codered (remember that?) (default.ida?) back to microsoft.com.
That is funny and ironic too 🙂
Maybe someone could write a plugin which redirects all requests for exploiting microsoft bugs (on IIS server) to Microsoft 🙂
I am willing to pay for that.> On another note: In the last hour i’ve seen 2 more of the same hits, 2 diff referers. I’ll clearly know by tommorow whether or not this helps (for the time being atleast)
This appears to be a new phenomenon as it is also reported by others. Personally I would let it slide till traffic from such sources becomes a concern.
Worst case scenario would be to stop trackback and rely only on pingback for auto-linking.NuclearMoose> What’s the sense?
Tell that to Nick Denton & Rafat Ali 😉
