I don’t know if WordPress will work on your server.
You should have Apache installed (there’s a Win32 version), and its mod_rewrite. Linux is recommended, though it might work on Windows, I don’t know.
Check here for the rest of the details. On the other hand, I think you may like the idea of multi-blogging software. There’s a version of WordPress, called WordPressMU, that lets you create a community of blogs, where each author can create and maintain its own blog. I don’t know if that’s what you want. If so, go take a look. However, I think the requirements for it must be pretty similar to normal WordPress.
It’s only my opinion, but I think that if you want to make the best use of free software, you should change to Linux. But that’s up to you.
Hope it works

In reply to: [Plugin: MobilePress] MP theme takes over site themeI had the same problem and it took me hours to fix it.
On the footer, there’s a link “View Full Version”. Click on it.
Is is solved now?so you have some stuff on blogger. you can import it to WordPress.com
also, you can export all you have on wordpress.com (this includes the blogger stuff if you had eventually transfered it over there) to a self hosted wordpress blog
is that what you were looking for?Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Upload errori don’t have .htaccess in my hosting account, what can i do???
tha plugin only adds what LSRN94 said to the .htaccess file in the root, but whether it’s there or not, the error remains (which is something like “The file couldn’t be moved to /www/my5gb.com/g/r/e/{my user account}/htdocs/wp-content/uploads.”, it’s similar to that cause i have installed the Spanish and that is re-translated to English.)
Also, I tried chmoding the wp-content folder and the uploads folder, but didn’t work anyways.I’m using WP 2.5.1, for the record.
If anyone can help, thanks.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: themes & plugins don’t show up in dashboardI fixed it!!!!
all i had to do was let wp take a breath… i moved the themes to the root folder, checked the dashboard themes page, then moved the dirs and files to wp-content/themes and when I refresh the page, there they were!
I did the same with the plugins and it worked.so if something like this happens to anyone, there’s the solution

In reply to: Help with WP theme and plugin installationhey there, i have the same problem but i can’t make it work.
i am hosted in my5gb.com, and use the filemanager to upload everything. the plugins and themes are in the default directories, but in the dashboard of wordpress they don’t appear..
i have a co.cc domain: gremiobauza.co.cc, and the subdomain given by my hosting is gremiobauza.my5gb.com.
i’ve been trying every possibility in the settings (direction of wordpress AND direction of blog, I think those are the names in English as i have the spanish install…), between http://www.gremiobauza.co.cc, gremiobauza.co.cc, gremiobauza.my5gb.com, http://www.gremiobauza.my5gb.comwhat do you think??
