I am trying to add about 1,200 tags to include in a specific sidebar, while excluding the same tags from certain widgets within the sidebar.

Currently, the only way to do this is enter each one manually. I tried creating a list with a comma after each tag and copy and pasting this into the visibility field, but that did not work.

Is there currently a workaround that exists, or do I need to manually type each one in?

  • Hi @sbyce

I made a review of how those tags are stored in the database and I’m afraid this will be not possible to bulk add them to the Visibility field.

However, I pinged our developers is there any walkaround for that. We will post an update here as soon as more information is available.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @sbyce

    Good news 🙂

Our developer created a snippet that allows to bulk add tags invisibility field.

    1. Please download this file:
    https://gist.github.com/wpmudev-sls/d50803e387229191bcb92112d1ced9ec

    2. Unzip and place custom-sidebar-add-multiples-tags.php file in /wp-content/mu-plugins/ (if /mu-plugins/ folder does not exist, please create it)

    3. refresh you dashboard

    4. add your tags separated via comma and press your left mouse button
    (example: tag1, tag2, tag3, tag4)

You should see then all your tags in that field. Then press Save.

    I hope this helps 🙂

    Kind Regards,
    Kris
