Near the end of November, we installed web-stories and quickly turned out 10-12 stories. Server issues have popped up and are being worked on. Our website load time went from 5.2 to 6.7-6.9 when the server is properly running. The question is this … DOES the use of WEB STORIES PLUG-IN SLOW DOWN THE MAIN SITE LOAD TIME? We have 3 pages dedicated to collecting the web-stories. chefleez.com/merry-christmas/, chefleez.com/experience-thailand/, and the web stories plug-in provided /web-stories/.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

The Web Stories plugin is pretty lightweight in terms of affecting server performance, and doesn’t really affect the rest of the WordPress site’s loading time.

I see that pages like https://chefleez.com/web-stories/thailand-50%25-discount/embed/ are loading slowly. /embed/ URLs are handled by WordPress and not touched by the plugin, and are usually pretty fast. So there must be something else going on with your site.

To find out more, I recommend you to troubleshoot your site using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This way you can simulate using your site with individual/all plugins disabled, to find the culprit.

If that doesn’t bring any answers, I recommend asking for help in the general WordPress.org support forums at wordpress.org/support.
