Sorry to hear you’ve been unable to setup Site Kit. Can you share the following and we can inspect your setup?
- You Site Health information. You can share privately if preferred.
- Any console errors on the hung screen you encounter.
We’re currently investigating similar reports of this which you can see below:

sorry, but my hosting provider deleted Site Kit by Google plugin because its hang site.
i have shared Site Health information.
Many thanks for sharing, I’ll try and recreate the experience using some of the same plugins as identified by other users who’ve encountered the same issue. In the meantime can you inform me of the below?
- Who is your current hosting provider?
- Was there an option to install Site Kit from your hosting providers control panel previously that no longer exists?
- Are you familiar with the “rms_unique_wp_mu_pl_fl_nm” MU plugin as identified in your Site Health information?

Many thanks for sharing. We may have identified the cause of the issue, which you can find out more on below:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/1908
As we’re still working on this I’ll update you here as soon as I have any additional information.
@naveenparmuwal Apologies for the delay on this. In other cases similar to this there were incompatibilities with other plugins. Can you follow the steps below so we can troubleshoot this issue with other plugins temporarily deactivated?
it might be useful to know whether you’re able to get connected using the following steps, which temporarily deactivates other plugins and switches to a default WordPress theme (for you only, as a logged in user).
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more
You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.
Let me know if that works for you.
As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
Note also that in the related GitHub issue we were able to narrow the issue down to third party plugins.
