shortcode displaying in post excerpt

Hi!
In the process of working on a site, and wondering if anyone might have an idea to help solve this issue.

I am using Grid Theme Responsive (free version; and have emailed them if they might have a solution, as they use Cyclone Slider2 and showed how to set it up — which is how I found this slider!).

In this theme, the latest posts are displayed as a grid of featured images; hovering over one of the images displays the post’s title and an excerpt. However, mine is displaying the slider’s shortcode in the excerpt. I have set it up exactly as shown in the theme overview video, and their live-demo-preview does not have this same problem.

Am I missing something? How can I ensure that the shortcode does not get displayed in the excerpt, but still have the slider show up?
