Hello, we’ve been running the aggregator with PHP7 in production now for a good 4 weeks. The aggregator seems to work great.
We have noticed a decrease of the server CPU cycles by 50% when upgrading to PHP7. Also non-cached requests are handled twice as fast now (avg. 2s -> 1s) according to New Relic. So it seems your refactor of the plugin was totally worth it because of the overall speed improvements site-wide. Thanks!
Hi @sampohaavisto,
Thank you for sharing your experience with PHP7 and WP RSS Aggregator with us here.
It really means to us.
Do you use any of our add-ons on your site, by any chance? If you do, would you mind telling us which add-ons you are currently using?
Hi Eric. Yes, we are using the following add-ons:
- wp-rss-feed-to-post
- wp-rss-full-text-feeds
- wp-rss-keyword-filtering
Thank you for your answer, @sampohaavisto!
