Hi @skyrals –
I just tested on a website with Jetpack v11.4 and WordPress v6.0.3 and could not reproduce this issue.
If you disable all plugins other than Jetpack, does the media gallery work? It may be that there is a plugin that conflicts with Jetpack.
In order to test this, the next step is to look for a theme or plugin conflict. The Health Check plugin’s “Troubleshooting Mode” is a good way to do this. It allows you to make changes to your site without them reflecting on the frontend. You can download that plugin here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, you can go to Tools → Site Health:
* Select the Troubleshooting tab and then click Enable Troubleshooting to automatically disable all plugins and add a new Troubleshooting Menu item in the toolbar at the top of the wp-admin dashboard.
* From here, you can enable and disable plugins and change the theme for your site, but without affecting normal visitors to your site.
Within Health Check, please disable all plugins other than Jetpack and test again. If it works as expected, you know that the issue is with one of your plugins. Please enable your plugins one at a time, testing after each one, until you encounter the issue again. Once you do, you will know which plugin is causing the issue. At that point, you can either leave it disabled or reach out to the developers for a fix.
That plugin sounds useful, I’ll give it a go and post back my results
ok I tried that plugin but it didn’t seem to be able to disable plugins as it described.
Anyway, I manually disabled plugins and I worked out that the issue is between Jetpack and Yoast SEO.
I then went through the Jetpack modules and disabled them one by one until I got things working again.
So I can get it working with Yoast SEO if I disable the following two modules in JetPack
Brute Force Protection
Contact Form
That doesn’t seem to correlate, any ideas? I can live without those anyway as I use WP Forms
Roger
That is Yoast SEO version 19.8
Hi Roger
That’s very strange. I’ve tested again with WP 6.0.3, Jetpack 11.4 and Yoast 19.8, and made sure Brute Force Protection and Contact Form were enabled in Jetpack, and I’m still able to select images from the media library without any issues.
Have you tried deactivating Yoast features, to see if there’s a particular feature of the Yoast plugin that’s conflicting here?
If you’re unable to find the cause, I’d suggest just leaving those two modules deactivated if you don’t need them.
