Why do I need a WordPress.com account?

Since Jetpack and its services are provided and hosted by WordPress.com, a WordPress.com account is required for Jetpack to function.

I already have a WordPress account, but Jetpack isn’t working. What’s going on?

A WordPress.com account is different from the account you use to log into your self-hosted WordPress. If you can log into WordPress.com, then you already have a WordPress.com account. If you can’t, you can easily create one during installation.

How do I view my stats?

Once you’ve installed Jetpack your stats will be available on WordPress.com/Stats, on the official WordPress mobile apps, and on your Jetpack dashboard.

there's nothing that can be used without having to give your data to wordpress.com. Most useful features are premium. don't understand why this plugin is always featured in the plugins page...

Blocks your RSS feed, but Good for stats

The performance accelerator blocks your RSS feed, so you can't use it. I do like the stats feature better than Monster Insights.

Dramatically slows down site

With Jetpack activated, 22% google page speed test result.....deactivated 92%. Then used debug with selected options activated with same result. I hope the creators and managers of this plugin will actually attempt to try to fix this major ongoing issue instead of constantly pointing either to user error or other plugins. This is an issue within the Jetpack plugin itself.
