Is Jetpack free?

Yes! Jetpack’s core features are and always will be free.

These include: site stats, a high-speed CDN for images, related posts, downtime monitoring, brute force attack protection, automated sharing to social networks, sidebar customization, and many more.

Should I purchase a paid plan?

Jetpack’s paid services include real-time backups, security scanning, premium themes, spam filtering, video hosting, site monetization, SEO tools, search, priority support, and more.

Why do I need a WordPress.com account?

Since Jetpack and its services are provided and hosted by WordPress.com, a WordPress.com account is required for Jetpack to function.

I already have a WordPress account, but Jetpack isn’t working. What’s going on?

A WordPress.com account is different from the account you use to log into your self-hosted WordPress. If you can log into WordPress.com, then you already have a WordPress.com account. If you can’t, you can easily create one during installation.

How do I view my stats?

Once you’ve installed Jetpack your stats will be available on WordPress.com/Stats, on the official WordPress mobile apps, and on your Jetpack dashboard.

How do I contribute to Jetpack?

There are opportunities for developers at all levels to contribute. Learn more about contributing to Jetpack or consider joining our beta program.

Mixed feelings

I like the things it does with SEO and social thingies. But it also expertly messed up my sites images.
A warning that this software is still in alpha stadium would have been nice.

Theoretically a great idea…

Hosting optimized images on Jetpack’s server? Awesome! And other features sound really good too, but that this was developed by Automattic and does things like add a ton of scripts to every page, for services that aren’t even turned on, is a bit alarming.

The number of 1 star reviews shows that there is still a lot of work to do. The biggest issue I have is how Woocommerce Services is now part of Woocommerce’s setup, and that plugin requires Jetpack, so tons of sites are likely to experience tons of issues and not realize that all of this is the culprit. Just spent two weeks sorting out a problem where taxes were being added, even after the plugins were deleted….and taxes through Woocommerce Services/Jetpack were never even turned on in the first place. Had to reinstall both plugins and delete them again to get it to sort itself out. 🙁

Overall a happy experience

I’ve been using Jetpack for a little bit now and overall it’s a nice experience and the features you get are worth it. Having said that though, the user interface is confusing at times.

I’ve found that in some instances, stats and other information is grouped together with actual settings so it makes finding things tricky. I think the UX/UI could be improved to better distinguish important elements.

Having a paid plan was does seem worth it too – I don’t think I would have gotten much out of the free version as it is a bit basic for my needs at least.

Not bad

Actually this plugin is nice, it’s just too heavy on the server and takes a big resource.

Awesome Plugin

I Actually liked this plugin, I recommend it for all WordPress users.

Thanks Automattic!
