I have a newly built site that I was connecting with the google account. When I try to connect the Google Analytics service through site kit I get the following error

“Error: We’ve detected there’s already an existing Analytics tag on your site (ID UA-187283587-1), but your account doesn’t seem to have access to this Analytics property. You can either remove the existing tag and connect to a different account, or request access to this property from your team.”

However I do not have any other GA tag on the site anywhere. I have not input any GA code through another plugin or through any custom code. The site is brand newly built so I can’t understand where the plugin is getting this UA ID from.

    Please help.

  • Hello @charliedavies ,

Thanks for opening a support topic.

By inspecting source code I can see GA snippet UA-187283587-1 installed at the website. It seems its coming from chat plugin MoneyPenyy. To find out the exact plugin you can apply basic troubleshooting steps. Also you can setup Google Analytics module.

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    4. Make an attempt to setup Google Analytics module

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

In troubleshooting mode you can re-enable the plugins one by one & on each turn you need to check the source code to make sure which plugin is inserting the snippet.
