Can’t Connect Google Analytics
-
Hi there,
When I try and connect services to my site I am getting the message: “Error: You are probably offline.”
I am able to connect to Search Console and PageSpeed Insights; just not GA. I have tried resetting/reinstalling the plugin numerous times and also tried using different user accounts, incognito mode, different browsers, etc. I’ve also tried disabling all plugins and reverting to the default theme to no avail.
If someone could help me to diagnose the cause, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for reaching out, and providing the troubleshooting steps you’ve undertaken. So we can understand your setup a bit more can you share your Site Health information here or privately?
If you’d like to attempt setup once more please follow the steps below:
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”
- From the the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Analytics once more
You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards. If the above fails can you inform me whether you’ve attempted setup from another device?
Thanks for your response James,
That didn’t seem to work (assuming I did it correctly).Yes, I have tried to run the setup from a couple of other devices previously.
Sorry to hear that didn’t work. Before we escalate this issue can you inform me of the following:
- Are you aware of the
maintenance.phpMU plugin, which is active when looking at your Site Health information? - Do you have any other sites on the same hosting provider which you can attempt setup with?
- Do you see any console errors on the same screen whereby you encounter the message?
@carlmanson since we have not heard from you, I am marking you topic as resolved. If you should have any further concerns, please open a new support topic.
