link/unlink permanently disabled
-
All other button display fine. I’ve tried a number of things (deleting, re-installing, etc.) and even deactivating other plugins one by one and nothing seems to affect the status. What do you recommend I look at?

1. Are you using any other plugins which add/modify editor buttons? (ie, “Tinymce Advanced”)?
2. What exactly happens? Does the popup window open? Does the button just do nothing? Is the popup window empty when it pops up?
Try to provide me with a specific set of steps where I can attempt to replicate your issue.
Thanks!
You know what… are you selecting text first?
Some buttons are greyed out by default.. and only become active when you highlight or select text within the editor.
1. not using any other plugins which modify the editor buttons, just the tinymce ultimate.
2. on the page or post, all buttons are displayed but the link/unlink are permanently grayed out altho in position.
3. yes, i do highlight or select the text to be modified or ‘linked’ and the button remains grayed out/disabled.i even disabled the plugin, updated the theme and re-enabled the plugin and it still is unchanged. i’ve disabled other plugins one at a time and it does not affect the result – the link/unlink remain disabled.
i am very perplexed….
Hmmm… as am I.
Okay… would you mind setting me up with a temporary admin level user account to your website experiencing this issue? Perhaps I can find out what is happening by running a few debug tools in my browser.
If you don’t mind… you may send the details using my contact form HERE.
Please include a link to this topic.. so I know who you are.
Once I’m done.. you may simply delete the added user account.
please refer to your contact page as you requested.
thank you!
Yep. i’ve been having the same exact problem for a week–along with the HUGE NextGEN problem I’m having that is making it virtually impossible for me to post anything to my site or stay in wordpress without it crashing–which I just posted about in another thread I’ve created in this forum. I’m at a complete loss here.
Can you guys each list all of your active plugins?
Let’s see if anything matches. I’ve been experimenting in @pterophyta’s site.. and I can replicate the issue. But, I don’t want to go around randomly turning plugins on/off.
Let’s each make a list… and what plugins are used in common.
Thanks!

WPaudioThanks.
BTW, the website reverted to part template recently (posts deleted)…not sure why, but awaiting the person hosting the site to restore to an earlier version (ie last week).
aha! I believe Contact form 7 just upgraded to version 3.5 which i have… is that the same you have installed mrpacdan?
Yeah. that’s the one I have. when did that update? because I’ve been having this problem since last weekend. And the NextGEN gallery problem has been several weeks, and it’s getting worse by the minute. It took me over an hour to add 9 pix to a blog–I had to load one picture, save the draft, exit wordpress, sign back in, and do the same over and over, and even then, i wasn’t successful every time.
Let’s see…
The two similar plugins are “Contact Form 7” and the “NextGen” plugin (although it appears slightly different?)
Do either of you experience your original issues with that plugin deactivated?
Remember, it’s probably a good idea to manually empty your browser cache after deactivating Contact Form 7.
