In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Version 3.0?Hi @chantelklassen,
The most recent released version of MyBookTable should support Amazon.ca links. The affiliate link should be generated properly no matter what the TLD of the URL is.
If you’re wanting the TLD to change dynamically based on the user’s location, for example sending people in Canada to Amazon.ca and people in the US to Amazon.com, this isn’t something we’re planning on implementing directly, but we already support it via Genius Link support. As long as you have either the MyBookTable Professional Upgrade or MyBookTable Developer Upgrade, you can simply paste a Genius Link into the field for the Amazon product URL and it will do all the dynamic URL routing for you.

Hi @dianepatterson,
This is the first report we’ve had of a valid Amazon Affiliate ID that doesn’t end in a number. The documentation on Amazon’s website seems to imply that the characters after the dash in the Affiliate will only ever be numbers, but maybe that is not true of very old IDs. We will relax the restrictions on the affiliate ID validator in the next update to allow for letters after the dash.
We added the affiliate ID validator to help people detect when they’d mistyped their affiliate ID, which would otherwise result in them simply silently not receiving their affiliate credit. But if it is preventing people from using their valid Affiliate IDs that is clearly unacceptable and will be changed as soon as possible.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Changing owner of book's postHi Angela,
Unfortunately there is not a way to change the post author of a book from the WordPress backend at this time.
Thanks for letting us know about this though. We will look into adding this functionality in a future update.
~Tim
Hi Angela,
Have you updated to MyBookTable 2.3.2 and WordPress 4.5? What you are describing is a known bug in older versions of MyBookTable/WordPress but should not be happening in the most recent versions.
~Tim
Hi @junglekiwi,
I just wanted to let you know that in the upcoming 3.0 version of MyBookTable we are planning on adding support for Genius Links in the base version of the plugin that will allow you to do this!

In reply to: [MyBookProgress by Stormhill Media] No integration with MyBookTableNo problem! The metabox should have been set up automatically by MyBookProgress and you shouldn’t have needed to go set up up manually, but maybe something went wrong during it’s setup that caused it to get out of whack. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that in the future and see if it’s a reproducible problem or just a one-time incident. In any case, I’m glad it’s working for you now. 🙂

In reply to: [MyBookProgress by Stormhill Media] No integration with MyBookTableHi @carmenshea,
Hmmm, I see what you’re saying. I’m not sure what could cause this, we haven’t seen this on any of our other sites.
First, I would try going into the MyBookProgress book in question and changing the MyBookTable that it is connected to to a different book. Check to see if that makes the bar work on that book. Then, change it back to the original book and see what happens. Maybe something when wrong when connecting the books.
Also, check in the MyBookTable book, on that page there should be a new metabox called “MyBookProgress” that says what MyBookProgress book it is connected to. That may not be set correctly.

In reply to: [MyBookProgress by Stormhill Media] No integration with MyBookTableHi @carmenshea,
I’m not able to reproduce this on our test site with the latest versions of the plugins. Are you sure you have MyBookProgress 1.0.0 and MyBookTable 2.3.2?
If you do, can you please provide us with links to your website where this is happening so I can take a look?

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Grid MyBookTableWe don’t have an official Grid View preview website right now, but Enclave Publishing is using MyBookTable with Grid View for their website.
Note the Enclave has their book covers and text to display at a larger size than is standard out of the box with MyBookTable, but it will give you a general idea of how grid view looks and works.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Book list responsiveness failHi @tylertork,
We’re going to be changing this so that when the screen gets small enough the cover image will float above the text on the right and it will make the image larger, which should pretty much address your concerns about this issue. Thanks for your feedback.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] MyBookTable Error with Divi ThemeHi @donstevens,
Yes, we currently have full compatibility with Divi theme. This user’s problem was not related to Divi theme, as they still cropped up even when he switched to Twenty Thirteen.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Book list responsiveness failThanks for the suggesions. We are still in the process of improving how our plugin looks on mobile, and any feedback you can provide will be appreciated. However we’ll need a bit more data to clarify what exactly the solution for this is. Could you provide details about the device you are using, such as it’s OS and resolution? Also, if you can provide a screenshot clarifying what you mean by the extra “wasted space” that would be a big help.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Poor formatting of book pageHi @tylertork,
We appreciate the suggestion, and your viewpoint is understandable, but after a lot of research into this we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not that simple. We’ve put a lot of effort into trying to make MyBookTable as compatible as possible out of the box with as many themes as we can, but after experimenting with many suggestions like yours it has become clear that any extra style tweaks that we add end up messing up the layout of just as many themes as they fix. There’s basically no standards when it comes to the elements that WordPress themes use to contain their page elements, and many themes add extra DIV elements that add padding or position things in unusual ways. We have some accommodations in place that detect and fix the layout of certain specific popular themes, but these must be done manually on a theme by theme basis. In general though, the least bad option we’ve found is to just let the theme display itself normally and hope that it adds the proper padding.

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Multiple issuesHi @trlocke,
Do you happen to be using the Divi theme? We’ve had some reports of some of the plugin’s features not working properly when this theme is active due to some sort of incompatibility that we’re trying to track down. Any details on the issues you are seeing would be a big help in getting them resolved.
Thanks,

In reply to: [MyBookTable Bookstore by Stormhill Media] Make book pages full widthI see, thank you for clarifying.
This is almost certainly some sort of caching issue. Do you have some sort of caching plugin installed on your site, or a caching system provided by your web host or CDN? If so, please try disabling this temporarily and see if this solves the issue. It’s possible there is some error in your caching system that is causing the cache for this page not to be cleared properly.
