Make book pages full width
-
I’ve just installed MBT and think it’s a great plugin, however I’m having trouble tweaking the setup. I have 3 questions…
I set the book table page to full width, but the individual book pages are defaulting to a right sidebar. I don’t have any info in the sidebar so it just ends up looking lopsided and weird. Is there a way to set the individual book pages to full width?
I’m using the Delicate theme By NattyWP
Second, I’ve set the book cover image size to medium, it’s working fine on the book table, but on the book pages it’s smaller. I’d like it at least the same size as the book table pages or even larger if possible… how do I fix this.
Lastly, I made a mistake on 2 book blurbs, I’ve gone in and corrected the changes in the book pages but the original text is still showing up on the book table page and the individual pages… how do i correct this?
Thank you

Hi @beccarosenkrans, can you provide a link to your website? Specifically to the two blurbs that are not updating?
Sure, looks like on one updated on its own since i posted, but here’s the one book blurb that did not update:

Here’s a link to the books table page.
Hi @beccarosenkrans,
I’m seeing the book blurb as the same on both pages you linked: Both have the exact text “In 1943, during World War II, Pam meets the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots, and discovers exactly what she wants to be. She even begins to build her very own plane. But when her friend becomes sick, Pam has to decide what is most important. An adaptation of WINDSHIFT by Joyce Faulkner”. Can you clarify further what the issue is here?
As for the issue with the individual book pages showing an empty sidebar, this seems to be an artifact caused by the theme you are running. We have but a lot of effort into making MyBookTable as compatible as possible with as many themes as we can, but unfortunately it is impossible to provide 100% compatibility with all WordPress themes out of the box. You can try toggling Theme Compatability Mode in the MyBookTable settings, but this may lead to other worse visual problems on your MyBookTable pages. The only way for you to have 100% compatibility with your theme is to create custom PHP templates that allows MyBookTable to integrate with your theme’s style. You can read more about this process on our wiki here.
As for the problem with the mismatching image sizes, this is caused by the sidebar appearing on the individual book pages. The book image sizes are not correlated to exact widths, but to percentage widths of the page size. Since the individual book pages are narrower, the image will be smaller. This can be over-ridden with custom theme CSS if you have a theme developer willing to make these modifications to the theme.
I think you are mis understanding about the book blurb. On the dashboard, when I click on books and then choose that page this is what is written under the book blurb section:
In 1943, during World War II, Pam meets the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots, and discovers exactly what she wants to be. She even begins to build her very own plane. But when her friend becomes sick, Pam has to decide what is most important.
But when you view either page on the website itself (either in the table or in the book page itself) the book blurb reads:
“In 1943, during World War II, Pam meets the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots, and discovers exactly what she wants to be. She even begins to build her very own plane. But when her friend becomes sick, Pam has to decide what is most important. An adaptation of WINDSHIFT by Joyce Faulkner”
SO even though I’ve made a change to the blurb through the dashboard itself, the actual pages that people view on the website are not updating to the new text.
I see, thank you for clarifying.
This is almost certainly some sort of caching issue. Do you have some sort of caching plugin installed on your site, or a caching system provided by your web host or CDN? If so, please try disabling this temporarily and see if this solves the issue. It’s possible there is some error in your caching system that is causing the cache for this page not to be cleared properly.
