  • Okay! I’m a genius. It turns out authors can not edit. They can only author. They need to have the Editor role in order to edit. I feel stupid. And I am stupid. BUT:

Would it kill a developer to show an error message that says, “Your role does not allow this action” instead of “Update Failure”? C’mon, now.

I (as an admin) can update any post in our site with no problems. But my two authors are each having the utterly useless “Update Failed” error. You’d think in 2019, an error message could generate a BIT more useful information than that? No? Ah, one can only dream…

We are getting the same issue. We suddenly can’t make updates to blog posts. Completely out of the blue. We made no changes to any plugins, no system updates, nothing. Just all of a sudden every post update fails. We will be trying some of the steps on this page…

YES! Ideally, the user would select which columns they want to display from any number of possibilities. We have data sets with 15+ columns of data… We could select the default column options. Then the user could modify their own column display preferences. And their preferences should be saved so when they browse away and come back, their column selections remain.

Changed from a two star to a four star review just because you responded.

The website in question is https://Doak.io

I used a different plugin to implement OG tags that I can actually manipulate. And even with that, LinkedIn’s post inspector (https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/) refuses to use the meta tags I create. Following their directions to the letter (by adding <meta property=”og:type” content … > to the source code) still doesn’t result in LinkedIn seeing the tags.

So clearly, the problem is not with your plugin. But I can’t use your plugin to troubleshoot, since it just loads the default OG values anyway (which are insufficient for our purposes). But I’ll try your plugin again after we figure out the other problem to see what results it gives. I may be able to give a five star review after all… It’s just going to take time.

    Cheers!
