Sushubh: My main concern is what happens to performance when you get 1000 jpgs (each with a thumbnail) all at one level in a single directory. Surely it has to get sluggish.
theglobalguy: That file manager hack sounds great. Unfortunately, all of the links are dead. Do you know if it is still around?

Does this thing still exist? None of the links work and I want itbad.

Sorry, forgot to log in, the above is from me. I wish it wasn’t so easy to accidentally make an Anonymous post.

Wait. allusion’s idea can’t work. It makes too much sense. It’s too logical.

If a comment is deleted, I believe it is good form to leave it’s carcass in the flow. Simply put ‘Flame removed.’, etc. But, now that I think about it, I really don’t relish the idea of seeing 10 comments in a row that say ‘Spam Removed’; that would suck.
However, I do find it confusing as hell when a permalink to a comment says “Link to comment-375 on this page’, especially when it’s like the 3rd from the top. It hurts my trust in the permanence of the link.
So now I don’t know what to do. I’ve already had to override the default ordered list’s numbering because I don’t want the ordered number different than the comment URI number.
Dammit, what have I gotten myself into?

I really like the sounds of this. This is exactly what I want to do. Has anyone had problems implementing this? If not, does anybody see anything wrong with it? Or am I a guinea pig?

So tell me how to add padding to the left of a category head ( li ) without adding padding to the followingâ€â€?nestedâ€â€?list items (li ul li ). They inherit the padding assigned to the parent li. I can tell I’m going to have to bust out the example, but I really don’t want to. I’m tempted to say forget about it, now that I’ve found a solution for myself. However, mark my words, this issue is gonna bite some asses ; )

MtDewVirus: Fantastic. Even better than what I was looking for. Shushubh makes a good point; so now that I have access to these stats, I would like to revoke my aforementioned vote; everything’s fine—carry on.
    Oh yeah, and…

errm, i would dislike ranking features…
    no ego hassles please. 🙂

LOL, See Shushubh!—you can’t hide from me! 1543 posts makes you the number one most active member on this board. Now I know who to bug with all my questions ; )

Just wondering, what is the advantage of same database, different tables over different database? Does it have to do with performance, convenience, portability?

Hi everybody, Im zach and Im new to WP from MT. A couple questions about this wp photoblog:

    1. I already have a weblog at domain.com/weblog/ . Am I correct in understanding that this is a completely separate weblog? So, its address will be something like domain.com/photolog/ ?
    2. Does new weblog, use a completely separate installation of the entire WP system?
    3. Should it use the same database/database user as my other /weblog/; same database, different database user?; different database, same database user; etc.?
