I figured it out! I had my .htaccess file in the wrong place. Once I chmodded the .htaccess and moved it to the proper directory, I went to the “Permalinks” screen and set my Permalinks to the right settings, saved and reloaded, and everything came back.
Your “more” button is up on the button panel just above the box where you type your post. It looks like a little white rectangle above a dotted line and a longer rectangle. If you mouse over it says “split post with “more” tag” and gives the keyboard shortcut ( Alt-T ).
