Hi @bintudharsul,
I apologize for the delay in our response here! We’ve been recently acquired by Awesome Motive which does bring with it some exciting future plans for Sugar Calendar. I don’t have any news to share right now but expect some updates from us in the future!
As for your question, authors are not set by default with Sugar Calendar. You can read more in the link below on how to add that functionality if needed.
Advanced Custom Fields works with Sugar Calendar. You’ll just set up a new Field Group for when the Post Type equals “Event”. Here is a screenshot showing this setup from ACF. https://a.supportally.com/yLSCnd
Below is information on template files and post meta that can be used. Creating custom templates is outside of support but hopefully these documents will help. ACF has detailed documentation as well on how to pull data into a template.

Thanks and let me know if I can answer any other questions.
Hi @lolxdxd,
First, I apologize for the delay in our response. We’ve had some big and exciting changes with Sugar Calendar and the acquisition from Awesome Motive. We have some exciting plans for Sugar Calendar but I don’t have any news to share at this moment.
As for the issue you’ve described, I’m not sure if you were able to resolve this but I would recommend checking your error logs to see if any errors are being printed. This usually can help indicate where it’s breaking. You can try enabling debugging https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ and then share any error messages that pertain to Sugar Calendar with me here. I also would recommend checking your browser developer tools and accessing the ‘Console’ tab to see if any errors are showing.
If you’re not finding any errors, it could be a specific issue with your Micorosft-IIS environment and I would recommend trying on a different server to see if it’s still present. We haven’t received any reports on this issue which makes me believe it could be your environment. Feel free to share any Sugar Calendar errors and I would be happy to troubleshoot them.
Thanks!
Hey Mark, apologies for the delay in the reply here but I hope this reaches you well. We’ve had some big changes recently after the acquisition from Awesome Motive and have some exciting plans for Sugar Calendar.
As for your question, you are correct that we store the custom post type ‘sc-event’ within the Sugar Calendar ‘Calendar’ menu and not separately as other plugins might typically do. Unfortunately, this would require some custom work to move this and it may be best to leave it untouched. I don’t have any news to share at this moment but we are planning some updates for Sugar Calendar. Until then, I would recommend leaving this but if you have any questions, just let me know.
Thanks!
Ok, I’ll run some tests to see if it conflicts with any of our other plugins. Much appreciated!
