However, trying to download backup files under BackWPup > Backups still has popup with Please wait… and nothing further happens.
Not long ago, downloading worked as it should. The host support confirmed again there are no errors on their end. Further help would be awesome. Thanks!

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Download stopped workingYes, the issue just started a day or two before the BackWPup version 3.6.10 release and installation on the site.
A recent server-side change I’m aware of is increasing the memory_limit.
Adding the suggested lines to root .htaccess caused a 500 Internal Server Error.
Any additional assistance is greatly appreciated.
