In reply to: iThemes Security – NGINX.conf errorsIt’s a bit worrying that a WordPress plugin can gain write access to files in /etc. Are you sure iThemes Security is actually doing that?
edit
Just had a re-think. Does the /etc/nginx/nginx.conf include a configuration file from somewhere within your WordPress installation?

In reply to: Page went missing have got it elsewhere but now whatWhen you post the text into the post editor, just remove all the faff that you don’t need. So:
statistic.\n\nChris and Nicola\n\nExternal Links:\nFB: Facebook Angry Policyholder\n\nSome of the media articles covering our campaign\n<a title=\"This is money\"...Should be changed to:
statistic. Chris and Nicola External Links: FB: Facebook Angry Policyholder Some of the media articles covering our campaign <a title="This is money"......You might be best just stripping out/pasting the body of the text and then manually recreating the associated links.
And yeah, into the Text editor. The Visual editor is just plain evil IMHO 🙂

In reply to: Page went missing have got it elsewhere but now whatWhen you said you had a backup of the post, what exactly was the backup, just a SQL file dump of your database? If so, simply remove all the uneeded text because new data will be created when you save the post.

In reply to: Where the heck is my dashboard?Check your server error logs for messages, there may be clues there.
Updating your site may be one answer but make sure you backup the site first, files and database. If things don’t improve, again check your server logs.
Well done with the Skyrim thing, I never got past Sensible Soccer.

In reply to: Reducing the file size of a videoYou’re probably hitting PHP’s upload limit due to the large file size of video files. It’d be much better to upload to your site via FTP and store the videos in their own directory, maybe within wp-content/. Then you can embed the videos using the direct link to their location.

In reply to: unable to view/edit/add posts and pagesLooks like you haven’t updated in a while too. You’re on version 3.3.2, released over two years ago. Your current issue may not be connected to your outdated software but if I were you I’d start with the upgrade.
Take a read of the extended upgrade codex page first and ensure you fully backup before running any upgrades.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_-_Extended_Instructions
Once you’re fully up to date you can review the original issue and see if it still exists.
