It Seems that iThemes Security writes the security changes to the nginx.conf file but nginx cant use these changes.

if i try to restart nginx i only get the folowwing error on my Server.:
    _______________________
Restarting nginx: nginx: [emerg] unknown directive “location” in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf:4
nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed

  • It’s a bit worrying that a WordPress plugin can gain write access to files in /etc. Are you sure iThemes Security is actually doing that?

    edit

Just had a re-think. Does the /etc/nginx/nginx.conf include a configuration file from somewhere within your WordPress installation?
