@cais – I have posted the details on the bug-report at the link given. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
OK – it gets weirder. I replicated my production site to a staging server. I can now see the Next Gen gallery settings on the staging site. But not on the production site.
Also the custom role created can only manage albums and galleries – but cannot manage the overall plugin settings.
I think that the role may have been selected in the access control settings.
I will ask them the additional information.
Meanwhile, do you have an email address where I can send this information to?
Thanks!
Thanks Cais, I figured out that the plugin was set to only be visible for a specific role. So it was not even visible to the admin user. Isn’t there a global access to Admin?
Hi,
I have the same issue. I tried this but it doesn’t work for me. I still don’t get the Gallery settings in the admin. The gallery is working but there is no way to tweak any settings.
We have literally hundreds of albums and thousands of pictures. These are mostly working fine. However, the site is now getting to a crawl and our ISP is telling me that there are multiple 502 errors being thrown by NextGen processes which are being killed on the server. I also tried the NextGen optimizer plugin, and the reset plugin. No luck still. Any help?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Displaying all events as a list on a pageHi,
Thanks for responding to this – the url for the site is http://www.waterlaw.com/events – I can see the forthcoming events, and now past events has also started working. However, I cannot find a way to show all events (past and forthcoming) on the same page.
Thanks once again.

In reply to: [Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress] FAQ's Not LinkingCheck if you have a caching / performance / minify plugin – I had the exact same problem and found that turning off minify for CSS solved the problem.
I am facing the same issue. First I just got the fatal error message on activating the plugin. Then I increased the memory available. After that I started getting this error.
How can I install the plugin without file check option? Alternatively how do I remove the file check table?

In reply to: [WP Lipsum] Lipsum content at location other than topThis would really help – especially to use an image or paragraph placeholder. In addition, the ability to specify colors for placeholder text or images would also help.
Thanks for a very useful plugin!

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Warning: session_start()Hello,
Yes, I have version 3.0.7.
As a follow up, on further investigation I found that once I activated the plugin, and visited the Settings -> Information section, the plugin resumed working without a problem and the warning messages disappeared. I was checking if Safe mode was on – as one of the support threads suggested as much – but found that was not the case.
Not sure why this resolved the problem – but I could replicate it on a couple of sites. Hope this helps you investigate and resolve it.
Thanks

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Warning: session_start()Hi,
I am facing the same problem. However, the problem is present on some installations but not others on the same server. I had a look at my /tmp directory permissions – but couldn’t see any differences. I did notice that the plugin now uses two temp directories instead of the earlier 1 (in previous versions before the last couple of updates).
Could you be a little more specific about what you did to fix the permissions?
Thanks
I got it working finally – and there was nothing I changed. It must have been a transient / cache thing. Thanks!
I have tried both approaches:
1. Added image via Add image to gallery,
2. Added image via FTP and scanned the directory for new images. In both cases, the image shows up in the admin – but not on the front end. Also checked permissions – its 644, but since the thumbnail is being created in the thumbs directory, and the image is also in the right place, I don’t think it’s a permission issue.
Is there any thing else, beside uploading that one needs to do, it’s almost like something has to be published??
I actually have the opposite problem – I have uploaded an image to an existing gallery via FTP and can see the image in the folder. A thumbnail is also created. I can see it in the admin. However, this does not show up on the front end website. Any ideas?
