The plugin makes use of Long Polling in Ajax, and as a result, keeps the Ajax file running for roughly 30 seconds. In this time it will be checking for new chats etc. By having the file stay open longer, allows for better performance than if it were opening and closing every few seconds.

We are always looking at ways of improving the chat though and will continue in doing so by taking your feedback into consideration 🙂

Thank you for getting in touch. It sounds like there is a conflict with another plugin or there may be a javascript error on your page caused by your theme or another plugin which is stopping our plugin from working correctly.

Please get hold of me on nick [@] wp-livechat.com so I can look into this and sort this out for you as soon as humanly possible.

In future, please can you rather leave a support request before posting a one star review. A one star review negatively impacts our average review score considerably and jeopardizes our plugin and business. We spend a lot of time developing this plugin and improving on it. We do everything in our power to make sure things like this don’t happen, but sometimes it’s completely out of our control. With that being said we still offer email & forum support to help people that experience these issues (even if the issues are not originating from our plugin)

Hi Rohit.

You can disable the auto-popup feature by going to ‘Settings’ under ‘Live Chat’, going to the ‘Chat Box’ tab and un-checking the ‘Auto Pop-up’ checkbox.

Is this happening in a specific browser? IE and Firefox will often ask you to install a browser plugin to allow the browser to play the notification sounds when a chat is received.

Unfortunately at the moment the only way to be notified of a chat is to be on the ‘Live Chat’ page, or to receive email notifications (Available in the Pro version) of when a chat has been initiated. We are looking into other methods to be notified for the near future.
