Thanks so much for the help, esmi! I’ve been working with WordPress for almost 5 years now and have never had a situation like this to deal with. I just could not get my head wrapped around the best course to take. Just another reason why I LOVE WordPress!

Thanks for the link esmi! Seems easy enough. I think I was making it more difficult in my mind than it had to be.

    So just to verify:

    1. On my CURRENT static site at http://www.mysite.com, I will install WordPress into a new directory for example http://www.mysite.com/wordpress – THIS will allow me to design develop my new WP site and hide it (I can do that with a plugin) while my current static site and blog (www.mysite.com/blog) remain intact and for all the world to see. Right?

    2. When I’m done developing my new WP site and want to take it live, I perform Steps 2-11 and can delete or move my static HTML files from the server.

Now that I typed that, I have one question. If I do the above steps, then I’ll have WordPress installed twice – one at http://www.mysite.com/blog and the other at http://www.mysite.com/wordpress. Would I still need to move my blog into the /wordpress install or should I leave 2 WP installs, keeping my blog separate?

Have I just over complicated things again? LOL
Sorry I’ve worked all weekend and I think my brain is fried.

    Thanks!

I notice there wasn’t an answer to this question and I’m needing to do the same thing. Anyone know how to do this?
