Tried Tablepress Beta 2 just now with the css you mentioned above and it looks great on large screen but still weird row offset on mobile screen, thanks.

Mobile screen screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/jUwCZbe.pngp.s. Is the fixed column plugin still going to work as a separate plugin in the future with tablepress 2.0 free plugin or will it conflict, or should we just buy the premium version of Tablepress with the fixed column settings/options built in?
Thanks!
p.s. Is there a wish-list for desired features in Tablepress (premium) where users can submit feature suggestions and if they get enough votes or (funding) it would then become an actual built in feature?

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…Sure thing. I will email you the .ods file trying to import/upload that causes the critical error. I have enabled debug on config file. Will copy/paste the detailed errors resulting to you at specified address on site. Thanks

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…Thanks, that Column hide CSS trick works.
v2.0 beta is giving me critical error trying to import .ODS (libre office) calc spreadsheet. Able to select file for upload, tried creating new table and also overwriting existing table. It goes directly to the following error message when click on the Import button…
“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
I have html code (links) in some columns I wonder if the
<a href="">quotes are interfering with the string delimiter. libre office keeps wanting to save regular quotes in my link code as some other kind of backwards quote, which imports ok as a CSV but the links don’t work because of the backwards quotes. When I try changing the backwards quotes to regular quotes and re-import again it does import but totally breaks the structure of the table. Here is the environment:
WordPress version 6.0.1
Active theme: Blocksy (version 1.8.46)
Current plugin: TablePress (version 2.0-beta1)
PHP version 8.0.22- This reply was modified 3 years, 8 months ago by wordmax.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…Suggestion for v2.0 feature > Option to enable/disable search hidden columns. For example we have list of books with title, author and publish date (visible sortable fields) while in same table there are hidden columns for genre. Book Genre sometimes includes multiple words like fiction, thriller, novel, autobiography, novella, science, mystery, etc … so don’t want to display the column where some rows have ten genre terms in them.
So we hide the genre column in front-end but still would like to enable search for hidden column of genre which would result in showing the rows for corresponding book title and author.
A simple check-box to allow searching in hidden columns (could even specify column letter like H,J,L to only allow search of hidden field with these letters.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…Is there any documentation on correct way to upgrade/update Tablepress existing plugin to Tablepress 2.0? I want to test out the plugin update see if it works w/ no issues.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…I see what you mean about confusing w/ table display height/rows. Perhaps an “advanced settings” link in the top bar of the table display module to the left of the arrows in right side of the bar. “Display __% of table height”, user could input any value from 0-100% and that % of table height would be displayed. Default is 100%. But maybe you are right this could be confusing for some. Anyway, food for thought.
Thanks

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tablepress 2.0 beta feedback…Aha. Thanks I see it’s easy to minimize table view I was clicking on the wrong down arrow, the one that reorders the sections in the admin view. My mistake.
Sometimes we want to see the table view, but only the top X number of rows so that we can still select the columns or rows and hide/show, change header name of column, etc. But only way to do this is to maximize the table view which would then show for example 1000’s of rows which is not necessary.
Perhaps there is a way to set the preferred minimized table view pixel height or # of rows displayed, but if admin selects column in this minimized view it would still apply changes to the entire rest of column without having to have the table view maximized.
Just a thought. What do you think? Thanks

In reply to: [Blocksy] Horizontal separator (gutenberg) CSS issuesHi. Thx for reminder. Yes you are looking in the right place. The only option is background color but there is no way to change the thickness of the hr separator that I can see. The default hr thickness (height?) can be affected by css of line height px, border px, and background
How to css for hr examples:
https://www.w3docs.com/snippets/css/how-to-style-a-horizontal-line.html
https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_hr.aspIf the gutenberg background color option is changed to #eeeee the line becomes thinner. But if using any other color #xxxxxx the default line thickness is too wide for me. Would be nice to have settings in the theme settings > customize > general > hr where we could set default css appearance that would over-ride the gutenberg block default.
Does this make sense to you?
That’s great. Thank you.
Thanks. I totally understand with the Google maps API bait and switch for $$$ they did in recent years. That was probably their plan all along. Get people hooked using maps free API and build a captive audience. But…
Hivepress listing plugin has an option for Mapbox API which is very good at finding 99.x% of locations based on business names or addresses (auto suggest results as you type). I believe mapbox has a pretty generous # of free API calls before they ask for $.
Give it a try (mapbox API) hivepress demo (add listing) start typing in the “location” field on the add listing form. You’ll see.

In reply to: [Accept Stripe Payments] Disabling Captcha Admin MessageIt is so easy to fix this with a double=warning “are you sure” opt-out for the admin to disable the warning after a short clear statement that makes them fully aware of the potential downside not using captcha. They agree, check box, and it’s all on them. Only a complete idiot would argue with the plugin dev if they got hacked after that process.

In reply to: [Open User Map] Suggestion to add a “flag” option for locations…Thanks Daniel.
Might be getting overly complicated but giving points to people who accurately report out-dated info and give updated info (after admin verification) might be something to think about in future. Similar to the popular wordpress “mycred” concept.
Great, thanks. Here’s a good example (screenshot) a mockup I did that clarifies the idea.
Aha, perfect. Thank you.
Hi Hivepress devs: This year range find/filter is going to be recurring pain-point for first time admin users who are already spending a deal of time getting their site up and running. If they run into this issue (which is going to be a common use of hivepress vehicle classifieds listings) it can be the kind of a deal breaker that causes frustration and abandonment of the new project.
I would recommend getting your dev team together and finding a user friendly admin UI solution to make it easy to add year searches and filters for items that does not conflict with text or other search filter items and does not require a finicky work-around by the classified admin user to get a user friendly year range search/filter going.
Hope this makes good sense and I think other users will agree.
Thank you
