In reply to: Local webserver, Xampp, error from line 300 in class-wp-hook.phpFor me, I also had a “headers already sent” error, so while removing the extra space at the end of the wp-config file, I added salt values (https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/) to wp-config, and the errors were gone.
So, for me, I think the error related to authorization problems, namely, that the authorization info was incomplete.

In reply to: [Redirection] Changed URL, Woocommerce brokenYou might want to try a https enabling plugin. I’ve had success with those in the past (though now I just use Paypal).
BTW, I found a work-around, by working with my hosting provider’s tech support.

In reply to: [Frontend Publishing] "Too short" error messageSorry, we went with WP User Frontend instead.
Yes, it was actually a problem with a particular WordPress install. The plugin worked normally in other WordPress installs on the same hosting account. Thank you for your help!
I’ve had some back and forth with the webhosting company and the problem is persisting.
We’re still getting the same issue with all other plugins deactivated and using the default theme.
While trying to update the “Tell us a bit about yourself…” area the checkmark changes to blue, and the page does not reload. Upon refreshing the browser, the text which was entered is lost.
The blue Update Profile button is also unresponsive.
The Cancel button works as expected (clearing data, reloading page).
We set up a test site on another webhosting account (same company) and after the same earlier modsecurity changes, it now works fine. The company is awaiting higher level support to look at the issue.
Any ideas?
The Update Profile button shows a finger cursor on hover, but won’t click.
The “Update Account” button works, but doesn’t save any changed info.
Thank you for your response!
The “Tell us a bit about yourself…” area isn’t saving, although the profile images are being saved without any problem.
Does that sound like a settings issue? Or is it more likely my host’s problem?
We did some troubleshooting with our web host and it looks like there was a ModSecurity error. Their staff will make an exception later today/tomorrow, and we’ll see if that works then.
Thanks very much for your response!
We’d added thousands of words of text, etc., yet the error message persisted. I assume there was a plugin conflict or some such.
So, we disabled the error message entirely: Ultimate Member> Settings > Appearance > Profile (final two choices at bottom of the page)
Thank you again.
Thanks very much!
I found it at: Ultimate Member> Settings > Appearance > Profile (final two choices at bottom of the page)
We found it. There was a conflict with “No Right Click Images Plugin:”
https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/no-right-click-images-plugin
We disabled that plugin and it is working now.
Any ideas on how to get rid of the frowning face on the user profiles?
There is no conflict with our theme, other than a JS issue with the theme retrieving/displaying fonts in a pull-down menu in the admin area (to select fonts for headers and text).
There seems to be a conflict with one of our plugins.
Thank you for your response. Here is a screen grab:
