In reply to: Big Problem … Haked i thinkMaybe one of your plugins caused your issue.
From what you gave I would not bet money you were hacked. Take a look at:
http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_My_site_was_hacked
Maybe you could go through the steps to take if you still feel you were hacked.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Directories mixed up and can't accessWe could use a little information. You state that “Neither the wordpress or the website is being hosted by dotster.” then where is it?
As Samual sid WordPress does not install itself. The script you use may have some defaults of its own but that then is not a WordPress issue.

In reply to: Fatal error – helpRename your New theme’s directory and it will go back to the default theme. Your error looks like its using the default (Twentyten) theme and if that is the case, upload a fresh copy of the them.
You could also try renaming the plugins directory and create a new empty one with same permissions.

In reply to: Error: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. What version of WP? Porbably older, so would (manually) upgrade to 3.0.1 which might fix it.
Try renaming your plugins directory and create a new empty one with thesame permissions.CHeck the Admin account in the database.

In reply to: 2 htaccess files and can't seem to combineI seem to recall that _htaccess was used by a plugin. Just can not remember which one right now. And I “think” (on occassion) the settings in _htaccess can not be placed in .htaccess.
Maybe you could list which plugins you are using?
ALso if you place the contents (seperately) of both .htaccess and _htaccess we can gt it sorted for you pretty easy. What’s common between them as far as theme and/or plugins? Or aything else?
I have it on over a hundred sites without a problem.Never seen that problem before. Usually these types of things is a conflict with something else. But if you no longer have the problem no sense in looking backwards.

In reply to: [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Won't connect to smtp serverDid you take out the SMTP plugin? That would keep the form from working.
Glad at least you have it opened up.There are plenty of people using it successfully. Maybe if you post what issues you are having you can get it working too. Better than just complaining.

If you have permalinks enabled, try disabling.
Also try disabling plugins and see if that fixes it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
