I am glad to hear you are enjoying the facilities, and that you are considering going PRO.

Different users will have different layout requirements for the table in responsive mode. For example, some users will want the table to have just 2 columns on phone with image on left and information on right. Others will want 1 columns with all the information in rows in that column. Still others will want the table to have the same number of columns as laptop mode and provide a horizontal scroll to see the full table on phones.

This is why WCPT allows you to create an entirely separate layout for phone and tablet size devices. This way users are not restricted to a specific responsive layout, and can customise their own view.

By default the plugin simply tries to narrow down the table on phones and provides a scroll if it is not possible to narrow the columns and further (due to content and styling).

I will recommend you to create a separate set of columns in your Phone columns section. Since several columns cannot be shown neatly on phone because of lack of space (narrower screen width), you could instead create a 1 or 2 column layout for phones and place the information in separate rows in the column, creating a very neat view.

To understand this further please see the ‘Setting up phone columns’ section of this tutorial. In that example a 2 columns view is being created for phones.

The search facility in WCPT attempts to find exact phrase matches and gives those results maximum weightage. Results with keyword matches are also included as most users like to have such rough matches included as well. However, they are given lower weightage, so that the exact phrase matches appear first in the results and the keyword matches appear lower down the list.

The ability to control the search weightage and enable / disable keyword matching (and more facilities) is only included in WCPT PRO exclusively. To modify the search rules go to WP Admin > Product Tables > Settings > Search. Here you will have access to the weightage rules as well as toggling phrase / keyword matches.

Below I have listed some possible ways to provide a link to the product page. While I understand you want “product page link just after the end on of content i.e. on the same line” and suggestions 1 and 2 do not cover this requirement 100%. However, they are part of the Lite version so I am including them here as well.

1. You can create another button with ‘Read more’ as the label and its link set to open the product page.

2. You can use the ‘Product Link’ element to create a link to the product page and set the label as ‘Read more’.

3. You can enter the text ‘Read more’ in each product short description and link it to the product page. Then use the Excerpt element to print the short description along with the link.

4. Best solution: WCPT PRO v2.0.0 is getting a feature to show ‘Read more…’ or any other text with a product page link at the end of the excerpt (same line). v2.0.0 of the PRO version will be released in another few days with this and other facilities.

When you say ‘group the table lines by Category column’ do you mean sorting the products by category? WCPT does not have a ‘grouping’ facility right now. While the plugin does have ‘sorting’ facility, it cannot sort products by category.

Instead, you can sort products by ‘custom field’ in WCPT PRO, the premium version of the plugin. Then, if you create a custom field on each product and store the product’s category name in that custom field, you can sort products by that custom field. This simulates sorting by category.

For a more detailed explanation on this topic please see the documentation here. It describes how to sort by attributes using the custom field method. The same method applies for sorting by category.

Thank you for using WooCommerce Product Table!

Sorting among columns is very much available. You can simply drag and drop the columns as you please. So you do not have to delete any columns to add a new one in between!

You can also shift the position of the columns using the up and down arrows at the top right of any column’s settings. Just create a new column and shift / drag it into position.

Also, you can use the duplicate button at the top right of any column and then empty out the duplicated column and use it as a new column.

Another button for adding columns in between is already in the works for the next version of the plugin.

The plugin lets you drag columns between the devices as well, which is why all the devices are part of the same vertical layout instead of separate tabs. This makes it easier and simpler to just duplicate a column from one device and drags that duplicate to another device’s columns section. This will be harder to figure out if tabs are used.

Rest assured new changes are coming to the next version to enhance the columns editor section and make the experience even smoother.

WCPT PRO receives updates more frequently and sooner so the upgrades will land there first, much earlier, when completed.
