In reply to: Five beginner questions needing answersThanks, Root, for your clarification. I understand and I appreciate your feedback in each case.
Moshu: On the other hand, I’m sorry to see a personality such as yours having the title/responsibility of Moderator. You have been harsh, sarcastic, and insensitive to my introductory questions about setting up my first WP blog. You could have approached my blogging unfamiliarity with gentle guidance. Instead, you chose to be critical and condescending.
You obviously have talent, Moshu. Unfortunately, you lack the personality, patience, and social compatibility requisite of a forum moderator.
Nevertheless, I’m appreciative of the comments made by Root and Dgold. Thanks to you both for your personal assistance.

In reply to: Five beginner questions needing answers(and take a closer look at the footer…)
(…And yes. Check the footer. :))Would one or both of you kindly give me some meaningful commentary regarding “footer.” You obviously know what you both are referring to, however, I’m in the dark.
Footer on what site? What page? At what in that footer am I to specifically take a closer look?
Please give me accurate directions/suggestions. Thanks very much.

In reply to: Five beginner questions needing answersThanks “Dgold” and “Root” for weighing in.
Because Q. 4 was the outstanding question, and because Root feels no need for me to fiddle any further with .htaccess, I’ll call it quits on this thread and begin styling and formatting my new blog.
BTW, Root: Do you edit your “More 404” blog in an editor (such as Dreamweaver) or do you use the WP admin panels?
Thanks again . . . .

In reply to: Five beginner questions needing answersQ. 1 — I agree. I’d certainly want to edit my files offline (in DW). Thanks for the cautionary note.
A. 1a — The install was done by Jeremy, a WordPress volunteer. I mistakenly changed the path to the style sheet. There’s no error message now.
Q. 2 — ( ; +} Thanks. I made the desired modifications; saved it as I proceeded.
Q. 3 — n/a
Q. 4 — After getting the reminder, “You should update your .htaccess now,” I copy/pasted the mod_rewrite rules onto the .htaccess page (below the last entry), saved it and uploaded it. Yet, after uploading Permalink structure again, the same message appears. Should I do something in addition to what I’ve done?
Q. 5 — Yes, I am sorry for the questions. I continue to read the manual and hope you’ll forgive me for having asked my questions prematurely.Currently, Q. 4 is the only unanswered question/concern. I hope you won’t mind addressing it for me. Thanks, in advance, Moshu.

In reply to: Five beginner questions needing answersThanks, old fashioned Moshu. ( ;+}
May I follow up on your e-reply, by question?
1. In your theme: I opened Presentation > Themes and found no specific name. It says, “The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a style sheet and a template.” There’s nothing under the title “Name” and it says “Stylesheet is missing.” Am I looking in the wrong location for my Home page that I want to modify?
2. In your admin panel: Where in my admin panel do I find and modify the About page? I haven’t found it.
3. (already addressed — thanks)
4. Where in the Options panel?: My bad. I meant to say Permalinks, as on <http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks>. I can’t tell how to implement a chosen Permalink.
5. Get familiar with Template Tags: That I will. Thanks for the suggestion, Moshu.I eagerly await your detailed e-reply.
