In reply to: WP2.5 – Ctrl K not working, empty create link dialogThere doesn’t seem to be a good explanation of why this happens, but apparently clearing your browser’s cache works. Not sure why this happens.
Alternatively, you could try using, as I did, Windows Live Writer. It’s the only thing that’s stopping me from moving to a Mac – it’s that good.

In reply to: WP 2.5 – WYSIWIG Problem – Can not ‘Insert Link’You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s it? Try these random things and maybe you’ll find it? Please tell me we’ve got something more.
Otto42’s reply was most unhelpful and flippant, especially when the issue is clearly not on the server side of things, but my experience with this bug is this: clear your browser history and cache. In Firefox, this can be achieved with Ctrl+Shift+Del on the PC, and Cmd+Shift+Del on the Mac.

In reply to: WP 2.5 – WYSIWIG Problem – Can not ‘Insert Link’I have the same issue with Firefox 2.0.0.13 on Windows Vista/32bit. This is a major deal breaker.

In reply to: Missing categories add on write page after upgradeI’m logged in as admin/user 1 on both. I’ll check to see if I’ve “lost” the ability to manage categories, but given that I can add them from the Manage > Categories tab, I think not…

In reply to: Missing categories add on write page after upgradeAny settings that control the presence of that box?
No, none.
Hmm, interesting, because I now have set up a development version of the system and find that as long as it’s pointing to a new, “clean” database, there are no issues. When I point it to the old database, then the categories add disappears.

In reply to: Missing categories add on write page after upgradeNo, there’s nothing wrong with the browser. It happens on all four of my machines, using a combination of browsers that includes Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Konquerer. This is a problem in the coding side of things and it’s not apparently fixed by re-uploading the file.
Any settings that control the presence of that box?

In reply to: Missing categories add on write page after upgradeOkay, then assuming it’s borked and looking like this, any tricks for restoring it to its former glory?

In reply to: Missing categories add on write page after upgradeBump. Can’t find this in the search, either. Please help.
Once again, if my previous message wasn’t clear – it used to be that you could add a category while you were writing a post in 2.3; now you can’t in 2.3.1. Is this a design change or has something got borked?
