Yes that’s right, there certainly is the easy way (quicker), and the hard way (endless struggle). I am out of the jungle now, walking on the beach, listening to the waves swoosh the beach sand, with the sounds of the sea birds gliding by. Aaah! the sun is shining again, i can go for a swim and wash away the sweat from the DB_php_MySQL_PuTTY_administrator dump, and live again.

    Thanks Govpatel.

    Thanks Apljdi.

I had a domain name registered with GoDaddy earlier this year, so this evening i got hosting with WordPress, it was a piece of cake, “Easy Peasy”, not a hassle, once the payment went through, it install and i got the blog up on the web already: maukasmaku.com.

Installing with the above host is really smooth, everything was there at the same one site for; Dom-register/hosting/installing, and also there are many other application/options available.

Cheers, have a happy weekend! and Mothers Day!

    Hi! Apljdi.
    Re:
“Yes, PhpMyAdmin does make more sense, but you have to install it on the server. Maybe you can upload it like you did WP and get it running. How much functionality you get depends on how the database permissions are set for your user”.
I called and the reply was Yes it can be done, but they won’t give out instructions how to do it.

I asked for my subscription to be terminated, because it did not meet my needs. I spent way too much time with it, week after week, without getting it resolved, in the end all i got was one big head ache.
    Adios Amigos.

    Apljdi, hello !
    and thank’s for the comment.

I already have asked many questions; lots of phone calls and emails. The web host suggested “MySQL Administrator”, and MySQL Workbench.

Also another program called “PuTTY”. I have no idea what i can stuff that?

Yes you are right in saying that MySQL is on my computer, but it is possible to connect to the “remote server” (my web host server).

My web host has a very limited c-panel, that’s why they suggest to use programs like MySQL Administrator.

I googled; PhpMyAdmin, and i’ll have a read about it, se if it makes more sense than MySQL Administrator.

    Hi ! Govpatel.
O.k, i’ll try to sort out the points you mentioned:

#1. Access to Php My Admin database.

#2. Php My Admin on the remote server.

#3. MySQL Administrator program on my computer.

    Task A.
Re: “So first thing you need to do is find out how you can use PhpMyAdmin on your server that is where you create a database if you do not have Mysql management program on server”.

Thanks Govpatel, i’ll return back when i have something to add.

I understand what you mean now, Re: wp-install:

    Database: WordPress username and database.
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Content:“WordPress currently supports importing data in the form of posts (articles) and most of the details or features supported by the content publishing platform”. – http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content

Yes, to the “empty content“, and to the “empty tables“.
    Re: my #2 site.

How could i add “content” to the “tables”, when i have not even been able to start adding content;i.e Dashboard stage.

    Also what may have been misleading in my previous comments is this;
    -the “login” step.
It was/is not the same as the Log-In-page, with an WordPress (B&W) W-icon, and the WORDPRESS (blue and black) letters, also the blue background (LOGIN) radio button.

No, the “login” that i got was a simple black print up on the far LHS-top-corner. Not the color filled LOGIN page.

    I meant:

    MySQL Administrator.

    Apjdi, continues with this:

“Do you have access to something like phpMyAdmin through your web host?

Have you created any posts or pages? I’m guessing not but it is safest to check.

What I am suggesting is that you delete the database tables that have already been created and try again. To do this you will need access to software that will let you manipulate the database more directly than you can from within WordPress. Hopefully your web host provides something that will do that. One such piece of software is called PhpMyAdmin”.

Ans: I have a MySQL Administration on my desktop, but never used it.

    (@vesajohn)

    There was a note from “Abjde“, he said this;

“Have you tried this with a clean database? It sounds like you have no content in the database right now, so just delete all of the tables and try fresh”.

Q1. I uploaded the wp-3.1.2, Theme 10 Twenty, that has content in the database, is that what he meant?

Q2. Tables? Is that something to do with the MySQL Workbench, there are empty tables there?

If you can make sense of the above? please reply.

    The “Above loop” is this:

    ****************************************

    Followed by this:

    Username _ _ _ _ _
    Password _ _ _ _ _

    (Your chosen password).

    Log In. (radio button).

    *****************************************

    Which leads to nowhere?

    Thread Starter Vesajohn

    (@vesajohn)

I have come to this conclusion:
    # I have uploaded the wp-files correctly.
    # Made the correct MySQL_DB_details to the; wp-config-sample, and the name change to; wp-config.php
    # Based on the following:

    “Welcome

Welcome to the famous five minute WordPress installation process! You may want to browse the ReadMe documentation at your leisure. Otherwise, just fill in the information below and you’ll be on your way to using the most extendable and powerful personal publishing platform in the world.
    Information needed

Please provide the following information. Don’t worry, you can always change these settings later”.

Then i key in the details, and proceed to the next page:

    “Success!

WordPress has been installed. Were you expecting more steps? Sorry to disappoint”.

    ****************************************

    Followed by this:

    Username _ _ _ _ _
    Password _ _ _ _ _

    (Your chosen password).

    Log In. (radio button).

    *****************************************
But what is causing the above loop? is beyond me.

Re: (Previous entry) My web host only provides “Server-Space”, not Setup Service.

Here is the current Update with my #2 site:

#. “Success” message from wp, follow by a (Log In), but the login page wont turn/go anywhere.

Hey ! thank’s Govpatel for looking into my wp-Install problem, lot’s of trial and error. There is at least one benefit in the trials and error, is that the many different programs start to become more familiar with much use and failures. I will call my web host again tomorrow and ask if they can take wp-install to the next step.

    Thread Starter Vesajohn

    (@vesajohn)

O.K that suits me fine, I call in about 20 hours time.

Thank you for your help/time Govpatel.

    Thank’s Govpatel.

What i’ll do is wait for tomorrow morning (EU-time, it is 11:22pm here at this moment). I can call my web host in the morning, and ask the server to be switched over to Linux, it may take an hour or so to came into effect. What if i call you in about 12 hours time (thats 12 midday our EU time), would that suit you?
