    Okay…this was my fault totally. For some reason, I installed “options-contactform.php” in the /wp-admin/ directory.

    For others who may have slipped into a fog of…forgetfulness, that file goes in the “plugins” folder with the other “wp-contactform.php” file.

    Yes, that’s correct.

    I’m stupid…sorry. it should say:

    “…&children=0”

    not

    “…&hierarchical=0”

    My bad.

    “This has been fixed in SVN.”

    Yes…I forgot to mention that. Sorry Matt.

    I tried what you said Alphaoide, but to no avail. I’ve got that file you listed also. When I commented out that line, I get the same error, but on “line 9” instead of 8:

    “$location = get_option(‘siteurl’) . ‘/wp-admin/admin.php?page=options-contactform.php’; // Form Action URI”

    The plugin may just not work with 2.0b1 yet…hmmm

    Not having this issue. I’m using 2.0b1, FF 1.5RC3, IE6.

    AH! Wow…that’s crazy. I’m not sure it matters in this case or not, but have you executed /wp-admin/upgrade.php?

    Also, is this an upgrade or a fresh intsall?

    I had this problem before I ran /wp-admin/upgrade.php…after that, everything was fine.

    Not having that problem either. IE 6, FF 1.0.7 and 1.5RC3

    Open your wp-settings.php file and look for this:

    // For now, disable persistent caching by default. To enable, comment out
    // the following line.
    //define(‘DISABLE_CACHE’, true);

    change it to this:

    // For now, disable persistent caching by default. To enable, comment out
    // the following line.
    define(‘DISABLE_CACHE’, true);

    That will disable caching.

    HostDime is an example of over-crowded servers. They are a true “volume” host, with 1000s per sever. Their speed is horrible, UNLESS you have a dedicated server. HasWeb is also owned by these guys, so beware of them also.

    Dreamhost is good, but if you do a lot of playing with MySQL, you’ll hate it. It can take upto 4 hours to get a MySQL DB to register, as they use subdomains to setup each one. Kinda lame.

    TextDrive is the “bomb” if you’re “geek savvy,” as there is no CPanel or Plesk there…but you have total flexibility over your virtual server w/ shell access and Webmin. I have a life-time account with these guys as a backup.

    LivingDot is a good host but pricey compared to others. You get what you pay for here though. Great uptime and support.

    Total Choice is pretty good, but they are also a volume dealer, like HostDime.

    MidPhase is pretty good, but beware of that “unmetered hosting” plan. If you read the fine print (which you really should when picking a host), they actually don’t give you unmetered space. On top of that, if you’re site doesn’t meet their criteria, you’ll be up/downgraded to another plan WITH metered bandwidth.

    MediaTemple (mt) is very professional host with pretty good prices, but like LivingDot, they charge more than others. Use these guys if you have a big blog or site with lots of content.

    Anyways…these are just some I’ve tried before. I’ve been around this gig for a long time and tried many differnt places. Many hosts will over a money back guarantee, so try them out if you have the time to keep moving your site around. Also, don’t be fooled by price AND pick a package that you REALLY think you’ll use/need. It’s like, “don’t go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.” Same thing here. Really shop around, read the forums, etc. See what others are saying before you invest.

    Myself and a friend of mine have a dedicated server that we share the cost for because we were sick of dealing with “hosts”. We just bought CPanel and did it ourselves. Hope this helps and contact me if you have other questions…I don’t care to help.

    Okay…I re-read post #2 and I really think he misunderstood me.

    I’m not sure what this means: “It seems that I have tried everything to get Matt Mullenweg to hold up his word, but he will not even reply. The next steps are obvious because I must enforce the terms of the Open Domain program.” But before you go off and do something with your “next steps”, you may want to review your OWN terms that you listed as part of your opendomain program:

    Terms of Use

    1. The domain should be used by a group most closely associated to the context of its name
    2. The domain must be actively marketed and significantly used
    1. Periodic content changes
    2. Regular submission to search engines
    3. You can not just create a ‘doorway portal’ with no actual content
    3. Only one domain may be used per group
    4. We would like a link on all pages
    1. The link must be predominate and visiable
    2. The link must be part of the original HTML document and not generated
    3. All outbound links must be marked with the nofollow attribute. For example, all anchor tags should have rel=nofollow in their markup. This does NOT include the link to OpenDomain.Org
    5. NO Pop-ups
    6. NO automatic re-direction to other sites
    7. NO objectionable content
    1. No adult material
    2. No defamatory comments
    8. NO SPAM

    Nothing in those “terms” has been broken by WordPress.com or those people selling invites to a service that has no equal. I may be going overboard here but I want to make sure everyone’s on the same page.

    Okay, I wrote post #1, and I’m totally confused b/c of post #2. My invite sold in 12 min’s and went to a good cause…does this upset the author of post #2 or was his/her post “irrelevant” to my post #1?

    I’m thinking that the author of post #2 misunderstood what my post was stating.

    Has anyone noticed that the plugin is slowing your sites down *dramatically*? It didn’t used to do this, but lately, it seems all 3 sites I run it on are having this issue. Even the plugin author’s site, is very slow.

    point the software do the “xmlrpc.php” file, which is located in your main WP installation directory. Fill out the rest of the stuff (backend login, password) and you’ll be set.
