Hi Mike:
I know their email because you must be a registered user and logged in order to purchase something. Thus, I already know your email and dont need to ask for it again.
Do I *NEED* to have the billing email address *visible* during checkout?
PS — This method worked perfectly in WC 2, its not in 2.1.1, though and over 1000 individual buyers have bought already. Now, of course, none can, changing the functionality and not putting it in changelogs kinda screws working sites up. 🙁

and now everything works fine.
But it’d be nice to have all of the ID3 modules included in WordPress working!
So while temporarily patched, certainly not resolved…..

…and then remote link from wp-filebase. When it copies files to its own directory structure things get messy fast. And some fail, so you get incomplete files and all that nasty stuff. Better to just link to your own dedicated working directory!

In reply to: [WP-Filebase Download Manager] Plugin compatible with wp 3.8?I’m working with movies that are 500Mb to 3GB in size. THOSE are large files! mp3’s should be fine, although, with this plugin, who knows….
Might I suggest if you add a .htaccess handler to force download for MP3’s on your server, you can just direct link to the files and the file will automatically download too?

But as 3.8 changed all the admin fonts, you have to resize the windows when working with files because the formatting is all messed up.
The plugin author doesnt really support this plugin anymore and threads here never get answers or help.
I wish I never installed it. No support, buggy, no ability to export, doesnt work well with large files, etc……….
So if you find a better plugin let me know. 🙂
Thanks Alexey! In the meantime I will simply have to go in and edit the code that sends the download link and remove the My Downloads from the Account section.
I look forward to your updated version, and when it is updated, you’ve got a subscriber here ready to buy the other modules we need.

After further review it appears that despite self hosting the videos still have to be on wordpress.com. WTF? That’s a serious limitation. When this plugin allows everything on *my* server, then you’ve got a customer………….
No support from the developer on these forums……… Its unfortunate. Cant expect us to pay for your Pro version when the free one doesnt work. 🙁
Ok, some more talking to myself………. 🙂 Partial fix:
1.) If the file was in the ./wp-content/uploads/filebase/file.wmv — the download fails after a few minutes.
2.) If the file is in a different directory, such as ./movies/file.wmv and I set it as a “remote link” and input the URL, then it works perfectly.
Wonder what it could be?

Fresh install of WP3.6 and no plugins except this one are active…… Still no dice!
And if I copy the file to a different directory (domain.com/file.wmv) and download it, it works just fine. Only when downloading it by clicking on the wp-filebase shortcoded link does it start, then stop after about 6 minutes………….
Anyone? 🙂
I should also add, all the settings are on the “safe settings” per the wpfilebase.com support docs and still no go……….
It appears to be related to how long the download takes after 5 or 6 minutes is when it fails.
Update: I was using the same account on WordPress for two websites to compile stats. I made a second account and then linked it, and all works fine now.
I wont mark this topic as resolved as there’s another person in here working back and forth with issues to resolve as well. Feel free to resolve mark it or whatever if you like. 🙂
