Support » Plugin: WP-Filebase Download Manager » Large files wont download, tried all the options!

  • I’m using the current version of WP-FileBase and WordPress 3.6.

I have movie files, mp4 & wmv files mostly. The files will download to 150-160Mb and then stop. All of the files are over 250Mb up to 500Mb in size. Browser independent problem, fails in chrome & ie. So I fiddled with the settings and used the fpassthru as it says to enable for large files, and the same result occurs. Hosting company is godaddy. Hide download links and force download are also on.

So what do I have to do to allow files over 150Mb to download?

Thanks so much for your help!

  • I should also add, all the settings are on the “safe settings” per the support docs and still no go……….

It appears to be related to how long the download takes after 5 or 6 minutes is when it fails.

    Anyone? 🙂

Fresh install of WP3.6 and no plugins except this one are active…… Still no dice!

And if I copy the file to a different directory ( and download it, it works just fine. Only when downloading it by clicking on the wp-filebase shortcoded link does it start, then stop after about 6 minutes………….

Ok, some more talking to myself………. 🙂 Partial fix:

1.) If the file was in the ./wp-content/uploads/filebase/file.wmv — the download fails after a few minutes.

2.) If the file is in a different directory, such as ./movies/file.wmv and I set it as a “remote link” and input the URL, then it works perfectly.

    Wonder what it could be?

No support from the developer on these forums……… Its unfortunate. Cant expect us to pay for your Pro version when the free one doesnt work. 🙁
