Which specific bot does LinkedIn report as?
I notice you listed a number of them.
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} libwww [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} libwww-perl [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^Link [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} LinksManager.com_bot [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} linkwalker [NC,OR]of which I know at least two are not LinkIn.
Would be helpful if someone with LinkedIn experience can pinpoint this for me, so I work to update the Default Banned List appropriately.
Two different websites on different servers with different themes.
I imagine it may be a plugin conflict but no time to test. Was posting for others who run into the same issue (that 2.18.2 fixes the not working widget loading of testimonials).
I concur KSteinmann.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] BruteProtect may provide a secure login gatewayRecommend you clarify in your plugin a simple phrase:
(coming soon) or similar note on the line right of the check box.Five minutes of my life researching it that I’d like back please…
Excellent reply as usual. Thanks!
Same situation today.
I observed similar attack like connections this morning, which brought the server down at one point.
I have since deleted the plugin.
Though authors of this script really need to review this, as it may be some form of zero day exploit against the plugin.More examples. Log of IP connections:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/30619687/updraftplus.txtWhile I appreciate the lockout unlock by email feature, do you intend to add a Whitelist to prevent inadvertent lock outs in future?
Seems like an unnecessary inconvenience to lockout the verified owner of the website (no matter how many wrong password attempts).
Yes, I have confirmed that WP management plugins do appear to work OK, as long as the following are not enabled:
– Rename Login Page
– Brute Force Prevention Firewall Settings are fully disabledI was actually surprised the basic firewall did not work as well. According to the “things” the basic firewall states it locks down, it should work, but doesn’t in my tests.
I guess I just need to dig deeper and figure out what rewrite rules, etc. you are using for the basic firewall setting, then report back as to what works or not works.
As you can imagine, if I wish to exclude a few things from the list, and after I enter my first item to exclude and the list disappears – that can be a bit disorienting.
Yup, verified today as well. Data goes POOF! immediately after viewing.
So would appear we get one shot to review. When you save a single EXCLUDE item for example, better hope you saved the text above or, POOF!
It’s gone and no chance the review change log further.Video showing the scanning logs go POOF!
You are correct. I missed some of the additional tabs on a few pages.
Thank you!Something remains amiss.
So after receiving a report, I did next day see the box referring to changes, so I clicked the box/link to see the log of changes.
But the moment I go back into the “File Change Detection” the information is gone/lost, with the standard perform a scan page being the only option on the page.
Ideas?
