In reply to: [Attention bar] Is Attention bar restricted to Administrators? Thanks – that was fast! I’ll upgrade and see how it works. I think our call center supervisors will really appreciate this plugin.

In reply to: [Editor Extender] [Plugin: Editor Extender] ComparisonThe editor tools themselves are different, though. I haven’t tested every feature, but I am definitely not happy with tinymce-advanced’s table functions – they’re a bit buggy and not as user-friendly as editor-extender’s.
I’d like to add my agreement to this. The cell selection & property settings are not good.
I tried something similar, editor-extender, before this, but found it conflicted with another plugin. I vastly prefer the editor extender’s table functionality. For example, current table property settings display in the property dialog every time you open it; this one opens up blank, even after you’ve set properties. A color picker (where applicable) in the property dialogs would be nice too (Um, people who need a super-user-friendly editor probably don’t know color codes!).
I may have to continue my search for the perfect plugin…Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Editor Extender] [Plugin: Editor Extender] ComparisonI’ve just replaced editor-extender with tinymce-advanced, due to a conflict with another plugin (global content blocks), which adds a single button to the top row of the editor toolbar. I believe the problem lies with editor-extender, as GCB and tinymce-advanced play together just fine.
The biggest difference is that tinymce-advanced lets you reconfigure the entire toolbar area, including the top two rows; editor-extender uses the WP defaults for rows 1 and 2, and lets you choose groups of tools for rows 3 and 4.
Update: Doing research on the issue, I found an alternative to editor-extender: tinymce-advanced, which works at least well. (I don’t know why it didn’t turn up in my plugin searches.) Using that, everything’s hunky-dory.
As the point was to make editing as easy as possible, just eliminating the icon and using shortcodes wasn’t a great option for us, of course; I couldn’t say whether that would be a useful new feature or not. I do appreciate the help however.
Anyway, happily eating cake… mmm!
Thank you much. I may have emailed you more than once – I kept getting an error on the request form submission. I will post feedback here as soon as I can.

In reply to: [WP-dTree] show only on certain pages (dynamically!)Peter, thank you very much for that recommendation. I think it might be exactly what I need!
ulfben, thanks for your response as well. We’ll continue using wp-dtree for our primary site, by the way. It works perfectly there.
I really appreciate all the help & generosity of the developers & others in this forum.Forum: Plugins
