Have emailed the developer & linked this thread also – hopefully something is done.
Doesn’t seem like it..
I just had 2 client sites break on updates – even with Hide My WP deactivated it was changing URLs, and causing fatal errors throughout WP. Having it on broke a bunch of JS/Google API calls/URLs – when I tried to deactivate, change the db entry, or rename the folder, it would break the entire site.
I spent 8+ hours today getting WP to work correctly / figuring out how to deactivate. :/
I run Hide my WP on a lot of websites, I need to update them all – but now I’m stuck because of this situation. What are we meant to do?!
Also breaking at least 5 different sites for me (on different servers/environments-both NGINX & Apache) – would be surprised if the dev hasn’t had the same issue!
Seems like it’s to do with the theme/plugin rewriting not working properly when on WP 5.5.
Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [Social Login] Troublesome plugin@jdembowski – This is the way that any facebook app or API link you create will work. I was going through the reviews deciding whether to try the plugin, but this one is basically dafaming it needlessly. (Assuming the OP doesn’t really understand web technology)
Facebook has nothing to do with the plugin, the plugin dev also has decent information on how to set it up. Just had to jump in on this.
